All the shit she said about Haymon is true. He has been violating the Ali Act for years but he's got away with it by calling himself a Personal Advisor, while acting as manager and collecting money from both sides. Just about any big fight we've wanted to see that didn't involved Al Haymon in one way or another. The only good fights of his seem to be fights that were ordered by sanctioning bodies (like Matthysse vs Garcia for example).
And if this deal is true, and he wants to cut out Showtime, why did he "advize" Stevenson to jump to Showtime and sign a deal with them? Not only did Haymon screw over Stevenson who's struggling to find any decent opponents now, he would have totally betrayed Showtime and Espinoza, feeding them these bad mismatch fights/cards, only to secretly make a deal with NBC Sports? Lol if true, Espinoza got played the fool (which has hurt us boxing fansnow the most because this has been a terrible year largely because of Al Haymon).
Everywhere this guy goes he destroys the relationship. When Greenberg was head of HBO, we got fed terrible mismatches, Andre Berto fighting bum on undercard for $1m, etc. Greenberg was getting so much heat he gets fired, Hershman comes in and puts an end to these bullshit fights and Al Haymon kills the relationship and only works with Showtime. Now he's screwed over Showtome and os going to NBC Sports? There is a pattern here and Thats why I'm extremely skeptical about this deal being a positive thing for boxing. He's never shown us he's about making good fights, he's shown us the opposite - he tries to maximize purses for low risk fights.
