If maidana wins it will be because he weighs in @ 145, jabs and attacks the body early. He MUST take a page out of Cotto's book and maintain distance when he has floyd on the ropes, or else cutting off the ring will be in vein when floyd hugs and the ref breaks the fight. Do these things and Floyd walks out losing.

Mayweather is the A-side he can do whatever he wants...just like Oscar did to Floyd...but the difference is Jr went into that fight and handled his business...all this glove talk is doing is putting doubt into Chino's head about how well he is going to perform...concentrate on landing clean shots and disrupting Floyd's offense...keep Floyd on the defensive side of the fight...basically like football keep the opposing offense on the bench so they can't score...keep Floyd busy so he can't find room to score. You know what...even though I think Canelo won that fight against Lara...he needs to do a rematch or move to Cotto. But it seems to me he is doing what Oscar use to do in the past if a fight was close there were no rematches with the Golden Boy: Whitaker, Quarte, and Trinidad didn't get a second chance...only Mosley...Canelo lost to Trout in my opinion but Austin ain't gettin no rematch.

Gloves do make a difference and you should know that. Floyd only fights with a specific kind of glove for his hands, if they didn't matter he would fight with different models.

There was nothing in the first fight contract that stated Chino couldn't wear certain gloves. That is my issue. It was a bitch move to force him to change models 24 hours prior. Now, in this fight, if It's in the contract, then That's fine because that would mean Chino agreed and That's his decision.

Technically your right about contractual agreements and honoring the bottom line...but when it's all said and done as the B-side his trainer Garcia shouldn't get sucked into to talking about gloves...it gives the impression that they are handicapped and can only operate under favorable conditions...the trainer doesn't have 100% faith in the training program and the fighter. That's not good when your dealing with "mental sharks" like the Mayweather's who start to hone in on your weaknesses...Canelo for example: Ellerbie quote, "It was his camp that said they would fight us at 150 lb...the idiots would have gotten the fight anyway at 154 lb...we just took advantage of their stupidity." Once that statement got back to #team Canelo they were HEATED...and the game was on and over. They need to drop this glove issue...

So the lineal 154 pounder is a welterweight and the lineal 160 pounder is a junior middleweight. Maybe if Cotto and Floyd rematch, it can be for the WBC 147, WBC 154 and WBC 160 pound titles! Truly historic!
And of course if Maidana were to win, he would become the lineal 154 pound champ without ever fighting above 147! WBC is awesome!

They definitely were. What I meant was that the lineal championship doesn't necessarily follow a championship, in this case the WBC, and it sure doesn't follow ridiculous sanctioning body stipulations.
Maidana would win the WBC's title, but Floyd would remain lineal 154lb champion because he hasn't lost a fight at the weight and hasn't officially vacated the weight class.
It would be like if the WBC stripped Floyd for not defending or fighting a mandatory. That wouldn't strip him of lineage.

Remember when Pacquiao was made mandatory to Mayweather's WBC belt and Floyd said he would drop the title because belts just collect dust? Wonder why the 154 belt is so important to him now since he doesn't fight there rarely. Unless he's planning on a Canelo rematch? Can't see him fighting anyone else at 154 (Lara, Kirkland, Angulo, Andrade, etc., none make much sense).
