So if you are making g-funk music, it is natural for things to go in that direction in terms of imagery, because it goes with the music style. But that in no way means you are a wannabe crip and you are posing as one.
Your argument contradicts what ThaIgk said. He's claiming there is no Crip influence and supposedly got this info from Docc Free himself. You're saying there is definitely Crip influence but it's only because the music naturally leads you in that direction - including I guess, naming your label Blue Era and using double C's in your name.

As I said above, here there is crip imagery and referneces, not posing as crips. So I don't see the difference you do.
Thats fine. You are also European, so your perception wont be shared by someone who is American.

G-Funk music was popular at a time when crips dominated hip-hop and its most prominent artists were associated with crip culture. Sure, Death Row was run by bloods but the only red album to actually come out at that time was DJ Quik's Safe+Sound (and it wasn't even actually out out by Death Row). In addition, crip imagery is generally more distinctive than blood imagery, so Southern California is in general associated more with blue colors, particular fonts etc.. You can also add the sureno factor too - chicano rap carried on with the g-funk style for significantly longer than everyone else, and we're again talking blue there.
No one is denying these facts.

Well, when you are using "CC" in your name instead of "CK", you are absolutely posing. That is the entire point i was making. These guys dont understand WHY "CC" is being used in their names, or Locc for that matter. Or wearing blue flags. That's why its so tragic. Again, same reason idiots get Chinese characters tatted on them.."it means serenity, beauty"...bullshit, it means car-grasshopper-firehose.

And, of course, it does not matter at all - I want to listen to good music, these guys provide it. End of discussion
Thats 100% subjective.

Let's turn the argument on its head once again. The letters "cc" occur all the time in the Italian language while I don't think I have ever seen "ck".

I can understand the imagery, wording, etc. used for the cover. They are also trying to sell their product to a certain fan base. You can't put out a g-funk album and put the Italian flag on it with a bowl of spaghetti. And as far as I know the guy that puts it out just made the beats and Westcoast rappers rap on them.

That he calls himself Docc is stupid though. I guess he did it to appeal to g-funk customers without thinking about the meaning.

If you would see the album in a store you'd never think it is an Italian producer that put it out, which would make many people not give it a chance I think...

The problem is that people are strongly biased against European hip-hop without:

1) bothering to listen to it
2) appreciating the fact that people like Docc Free are making better music than what anyone on the West Coast has done in well over a decade now

That's how we end up talking about crips & bloods and not about the music.

Very well and correctly said, no matter what those will be trying to say after this statement.

So youre trying to tell me by using DoCC Free, he is pretending to be Italian? Breh, the argument is over. You have lost the portion about the cats not understanding American gang culture but using it as a front force for their music, ala cover art, names, etc. It is what it is. Its ridiculous.

Lets all move on now.

No, the reason we started talking about crips is because of the crip imagery used by the artist.

I guess I'd be more excited if it sounded like some original GFunk. Dude is definitely talented, but this comes from that 98-04 era that I didn't really much care for. Not to mention the featured artists(granted, I would have been anticipating verses from these dudes if it was 98-04), no Swoop G tho???? I know dude is good at what he does, let's hear some of that OG shit bruh.

Just feedback...no hate from this direction
