Illmatic hands down! I've never heard of a rapper outshine the production quality of an album. Plus no diss tracks to hype the album either. The Chronic is more like a compilation/ghostwrite experiment album that struck hip hop gold, but Nas wrote everything himself and was selective of his beats, a real MC
This post in the greatest rap album of all time brackets made me wonder how much of the music on The Chronic Dre actually created on his own. Guessing under 25% with the beat jacking and ghost writing and all.
