49ers waived RB Brandon Jacobs.
30-year-old Jacobs' unsuccessful and brief tenure as a Niner ends after just five carries for seven yards in two appearances. Even after Kendall Hunter tore his Achilles' tendon, Jacobs failed to earn a role, being bypassed on the depth chart by LaMichael James and Anthony Dixon. There is speculation in New York that Jacobs could be claimed off waivers by his former team, the Giants.

yeah maybe saying before sunday's game on instagram or facebook or where ever he said it that "he's rotting away on this team" and that this "is the worst year ever" and posting pics of urself on the giants wasn't the best idea

EDIT: even better, reports are now saying he's been suspended for the last 3 games, so that he couldnt sign with another team and play against the Niners. smart move.

ESPN's Chris Mortensen reported on Monday Night Countdown that suspended RB Brandon Jacobs will file a grievance against the 49ers in hopes of having his three-game ban lifted.
The incident that led to his season-ending suspension was apparently Jacobs writing on his Instagram account that he's "rotting away with the 49ers." Jacobs is now seeking his release from San Francisco in hopes of resurfacing with the Giants. The NFL Players Association will file the grievance on Jacobs' behalf.

mind blowing stats for week 15..

A team's worth of production

San Francisco 49ers linebacker Aldon Smith has as many sacks in the last six games (14) as the Jacksonville Jaguars have all season. Smith -- who has 19.5 sacks on the season -- is three sacks away from tying Michael Strahan's record mark of 22.5 set in 2001.

Aldon smith is gonna want a 50+million dollar contract.... Not sure we have control over him... Rookie deals are usually 3 years or is it 4??? This is worrying me. Cause if we pay him a kings ransom then he under produces Im gonna be PISSED!!!!!!!!! LOL

He's signed through 2014, with a team option in 2015. So the 4ers don't have to worry about him for a few years. The players I'm worried about are Anthony Davis and Mike Iupati.

Colin Kaepernick takes NFC offensive player of the week

Plenty of people were surprised when 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh decided to change horses in the middle of the season and switch to Colin Kaepernick as his starting quarterback, but there’s less disbelief about his choice right now.

Kaepernick has been named the NFC offensive player of the week after becoming the third quarterback in history to throw four touchdown passes at Gilette Stadium in Sunday night’s 41-34 win against the Patriots. In doing so, he outdueled another member of that club in Tom Brady.

Kaepernick was 14-of-25 for 216 yards overall in the game, which saw the 49ers roar to a 31-3 lead before giving it all back to the Patriots. On the 49ers’ first offensive play after the Patriots tied the game, Kaepernick hit Michael Crabtree with a pass that the receiver was able to turn into a 38-yard touchdown that put the 49ers back in front for good.

There were an impressive list of candidates in the NFC this week, including Tony Romo, Adrian Peterson and Russell Wilson. Kaepernick took home the honor by continuing to make Harbaugh’s move look like one of the smartest of the year.
