This little three song EP that clocks in at just over eight and half minutes has been getting a ton of play from me the past few days. Once it's over I usually start it over and listen to it two or three more times. Cults is a band that as of right now no one fucking knows anything about other that they are at least a girl/boy group (duo maybe?) from somewhere in NY. There is no other info on them at this time anywhere. Their music is 60s pop driven but sounds very fresh and not just like something being rehashed and is perfect for the upcoming spring/summer.

Check it out...

I like how they used the entire EP in a youtube video. The music sounds really good and somewhat catchy. I just want to spend an entire day looking at youtube videos haha it looks really interesting I just can't sit 8 minutes and watch it without focusing on something else.

^^^ That album was very "meh" on my first listen but I think it's supposed to be kind of tongue-in-cheek. I'll give it a few more spins for sure though.

I'd like a new Sigur Ros album soon. That'd be nice. Even another Riceboy Sleeps would be great. I really enjoyed that project as well.

Yeah, I need to listen to it again. I was half listening last night while I was doing something else. I really liked the sound of the songs but I think it being in english really throws me off for some reason. Like the lyrics sounded kind of corny from what I remember and me being used to the "gibberish" of Sigur Ros stuff kind of made it a little odd to hear actual words I guess you'd say lol.

It was mostly composed by Nico Muhly who is awesome so I really need to give it a proper listen and let it sink in.

Fuck yes. This album will surely be in my top ten by years end unless some really amazing shit comes out. Then again, this is some really amazing shit in my opinion. The Bitters is Ben Cook of Fucked Up fame and Aerin Fogel with random other people playing live for them. They music is a mix of 60s pop, garage rock, and lo-fi rock and throw in some surf rock sounding guitars for good measure here and there. Aerin can sing her fucking ass off and all the songs are extremely catchy. At some points the music reminds me of something you'd hear from Thee Oh Sees which isn't a bad thing at all. This album might also have the most disturbing cover art of the year from a band which doesn't play grindcore or death metal lol. Check it out.
