this is true, the a's are the best gm'd team in the league. had a couple rebuild years lately for various reasons, biggest problem has been injuries.

the a's are my east bay al team, the giants are my west bay nl team. i love both

Ok, I am really fucking irritated as hell with the management in Oakland now. What the fuck is this trading away Holliday for a bunch of fucking minor leaguers??? It's like the past few years, they are throwing in the towel half way through the fucking year!! They are talking about trading Cabrera too which is fucking rediculous. I don't know but this fucking story is getting old as hell, how the fuck we ever gonna win a world series if we continue to trade all of our good players. WHAT THE FUCK?? Whatever this shit is pissing me the fuck off, same fucking story every year. Football season is almost here atleast, go Redskins!

you are some what right but they werent gonna get any good hitter in return for Holliday thats been playing in mlb. They werent gonna resign him in the offseason so at least they got something for him. The only players i wish that we still have are some of the starting pitchers of recent we traded or let leave.

Yeah Beane always trys to get young players for guys that will eventually sign for big $$$ in the offseason anyways. You can only do so much with Oakland's payroll.

They got more than "something", Wallace is one of the best prospects in baseball...

Analysis from Beyond the Box Score:

The Not-So-Final Analysis: Matt Holliday's value to the Cardinals is worth a total of like $13.5 million when you figure his salary ($6M), wins added ($9M), draft pick compensation ($5M), cash from OAK (1.5) and increased playoff odds ($4M). The A's get a top 50 hitter, a B grade pitcher and a 22-year old C grade hitter, which totals around $28 million. Oakland comes out way ahead here. For St. Louis, this is one heck of an expensive 2-month rental.

^^^ well since it was broken it down like that lol. Still Wallace is a prospect, hasnt really played in the majors and i wasnt even trying to say it was bad move i know it wasnt. I was just saying your not gonna get an experienced mlb player this time of the year unless your the one thats in contention.
