YG talks “Welcome to Bompton” album, executive produced by Young Jeezy

California love was re-established in 2011, with Tyler, the Creator, Kendrick Lamar, Tyga, and YG all gaining national fame. YG ended up being signed to Def Jam, where he has been over the past year. Being on the Def Jam roster has given YG an extra boost when it comes to his mixtapes. Only days removed from the release of Just Re’d Up 2, YG is working on his debut album.

From the legendary Compton, also home to Kendrick Lamar, Game, Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, and Eazy-E, YG’s debut album is definitely inspired by the city. Welcome to Bompton is the title of YG’s album, but he has turned to the South for influence. As previously stated, Los Angeles’ current hip hop scene is heavily-influenced by Atlanta.

Young Jeezy will serve as the Welcome to Bompton executive producer. Speaking on his album, YG opened up to AllHipHop.com. During his interview with AllHipHop.com, YG said his debut album will feature him being on his “YG shit.” Explaining how he turned to “C” into a “B,” YG said that will keep the people talking.
