Wiz Khalifa was forced to cancel a concert on Saturday night – after a man was shot to death backstage at his previous gig.
The rapper, 26, had been due to perform in Chula Vista, California in the evening.
But following the fatal shooting at his show near San Jose on Friday night, the gig was axed.
According to celebrity gossip site TMZ, the man was shot at least five times, however, police believe that neither the gunman or the victim had any connection to Wiz.
In a statement, the star said: “Due to a situation out of our control, tonight’s UTIOM show is cancelled.
“This was a senseless tragedy. Violence is never the answer.
He added: “My prayers go out to the victim’s family.”
