The Game Talks Year of the Wolf & The Documentary 2 LPs

It’s been a hot minute since the last Game studio LP. The “dope” Jesus Piece was released in 2012, followed by the LA rapper’s post-major label mixtape OKE: Operation Kill Everything a little less than a year later. Nonetheless, the Game remained restless with his frequent 60 Days of Fitness Instagrams and his Marrying The Game VH1 reality TV show. Turns out the former G-Unit rapper has been restless in the studio too, working on two LPs — Year of the Wolf, for his new Blood Money imprint, as well as a sequel to his decade-old seminal LP The Documentary. Somewhere along the way, he also dropped the altruistic “We Are the World”-like rap compilation “Don’t Shoot” for slain teen Michael Brown and the people of Ferguson, Missouri.

The wolf is known as the pack leader, and on his 20-track Year of the Wolf LP, Game proves that he’s leading the pack by taking the reigns as executive producer. Guests on the LP include T.I., Jeezy, Tyga, French Montana and several new Blood Money artists “[Wolves] are no joke,” Game tells VIBE. “They’re nothing like dogs. They scare the shit out of you.”

In addition to the Blood Money album, Game is heading back to the studio in October to finish up his next studio LP, The Documentary 2. “Documentary 2 is going to be just as good, if not better,” says Game. He plans on having everyone involved with its predecessor ten years ago back onboard for this project and adds that Kendrick Lamar “will have a heavy influence.” Watch the video above to learn more about what’s in store on The Documentary 2.
