The 4th Official Halftime Gaming Tournament is Happening Inside BEAST MODE Oakland!

The Ultimate Gaming League (UGL) has been pioneering a Madden 19 tournament season with Bay Area swag inside Halftime Sports Bar in Downtown Oakland this fall. Now the UGL is bringing their Halftime Football Challenge to the BEAST MODE store in Oakland on December 22nd! UGL’s first main Madden 19 tournament drew loved KMEL personalities Shay Diddy and DC along with Raphael Saadiq-co-signed artist Jane Handcock to watch gaming competitors advance through a day-long competition with a final win of the cash grand prize for pro-gamer John Madden 69. Before the main event, a preview launch party drew Mistah F.A.B., Philthy Rich and IAMSU out to support this new and much-needed experience of e-sports with hip-hop flavor! (See the launch party recap below.)

The Ultimate Gaming League is a startup digital e-sports media company that hosts its own branded e-sports tournaments and championships. Based out of the Bay Area city of Oakland, UGL hosted its first two seasons of e-sports competitions covering the best Madden and NBA2k players in the Bay Area, and drawing local talent to compete with pros for e-sports glory and prize winnings. The overall goal and mission of UGL is to bring more of today’s youthful professional athletes into the e-sports ecosystem and infrastructure as players, owners, and investors. UGL will incorporate the world of blockchain and its token-based opportunities to inherit value to enable purchases, sales and other financial transactions in the growing e-sports ecosystem.

The Ultimate Gaming League was founded by Brad Flewellen, Chuck Johnson, and co-founder Carmen Sudduth as well as USD’s Josh Johnson to foster diversity in the technology/gaming space through groundbreaking events and education. Josh Johnson made headlines last week as he was chosen as protected player by the San Diego Fleet during the Alliance of American Football’s inaugural Quarterback Draft on CBS Sports. All of UGL’s co-founders form a partnership between business entrepreneurs and entertainment industry professionals, alongside professional athletes who also have a strong interest and passion for e-sports gaming.

The Guru” Johnson (host from Bay Area sports station 95.7 The Game) has been keeping gamers on their toes and the crowd hyped on all the action at every UGL event. The cutting-edge experience with multiple gaming stations, live-streaming on Twitch and a hip-hop-infused vibe makes one thing clear: UGL tournaments are miles ahead of the mainstream e-sports world! DJ Flygerian Jeff made sure the dancefloor stayed full for all the spectators at the launch party kicking-off UGL’s 3rd year of the Halftime Football Challenge video game tournament series, with main competitions delivering cash prizes of $1500 and $750 plus bragging rights for the best Madden player in the Bay Area!

UGL’s first tournaments to be held on Super Bowl Weekend 2019 will consist of playoff dates with a series of single-elimination tournaments (including either 32 or 64 players), with registered players walking away with exclusive giveaways and prizes. The ultimate victor of the 32 player tournament will win a $1500 cash prize while the winner of the 64 player bracket will take home $2500 in cash, and bragging rights as the best Madden player in the Bay Area! UGL’s events will ultimately position the best Madden 19 video game players in Northern California against one another in a battle of wits, football knowledge, and skill.
