Milwaukee’s collab king, Taiyamo Denku, is joined by Griselda Records own Conway The Machine for the self-revelation based single, “Be Who You Are”
Produced by Cypha Den Music producer, Dcypha, the bluesy tune speaks on being true to one’s self. The single kicks off with Conway doing what he does best, spitting a gritty, first person perspective of true street life. Denku follows thru with a different perspective of the song title. He speaks about the gritty Milwaukee way of life and how he’s managed to steer clear of the negative aspects of it all. Along with that, Taiyamo details his strong determination of keeping Hip Hop alive thru the new and forthcoming generations, never sacrificing authenticity for popularity.
The whiny guitar and organ chords set the ideal tone for a real and meaningful record that urges listeners to be who they truly are and not put up a false facade. The brutal honesty found in the hook gives this song commercial appeal and delivers an important message in a time where it’s most needed.
