Soulja Boy offers $100,000 For Remainder Of Activist Codeine

Soulja Boy has started a petition to get pharmaceutical company Actavis to start selling promethazine codeine, a key ingredient in sizzurp, after the company ceased production on the product earlier this month (April).

Sizzurp, also known as purple drank or lean, comprises of prescription-strength cough syrup used in doses much higher than medically recommended, mixed with the soft drink Sprite or Mountain Dew. Occasionally hard fruit sweets are included for extra sweetness. The drink has proved popular among the hip-hop fraternity with Lil Wayne (pictured), Gucci Mane and A$AP Rocky all writing songs about the concoction.

Soulja Boy is also a fan and is lobbying Actavis to return their cough syrup back to market. The rapper tells TMZ that he is “mad as hell” over Actavis’ decision, saying that he uses it to help him sleep when he’s on the road.

He said: “Actavis is running away from money … they could be selling out everywhere.” The rapper plans to start a petition and has also offered $100,000 to get his hands on the last remaining bottles.
