Snoop Dogg has been known to host a fabulous party (remember last year when Vogue and the iconic West Coast rapper teamed up for a denim bash?). And while his recent 46th birthday party was certainly a star-studded affair, with attendees ranging from Sean “Diddy” Combs to E-40, Snoop devoted his big day to his wife of more than 20 years, Shante Broadus. Snoop later used footage from the party—of himself and Shante dancing while wearing matching jerseys and chains—for his latest video for “My Last Name,” a sweet tribute to his “Boss Lady.”
The video finds Snoop and Shante dancing together in front of an ’80s-inspired virtual background, intercut with the actual footage from Snoop’s party. Snoop’s stylist, Talia Coles, says that the couple’s clothing in the video was less about brand-name items and more about wearing garments that just felt good. “The thought behind the styling was comfortable yet fly,” she says. “Both Shante and Snoop are naturally stylish individuals, even when they’re just chilling at home.” So whether they’re wearing matching outfits at a glamorous party or hanging out in loungewear, Shante and Snoop prove that some couples dressing never goes out of style.
