Portland rap legend, Cool Nutz drops off his latest slap Yaper produced by Chillest Illest, off of his upcoming EP, N.P.Y. (Never Play Yaself) available February 16th. Paying homage to Bay area icon, Too Short’s Freaky Tales, Cool Nutz gives the people what he’s best known for – flawless world play, hard hitting bass, and even harder hitting lyrics and delivery. Also featured on the hook is Bosko, most recently known for his Electrospit work on Big Boi & Phantogram’s collaborative album, Big Grams. Fresh off of his 2015 album BRUH, and 3 separate national tours in support of the album with E-40, Devin The Dude, and Slum Village, Nutz has been back in the studio cooking up for the new year. With features from Slum Village, Bosko, Mikey Vegaz, and more – N.P.Y (Never Play Yaself) is set to drop Tuesday, February 16th and as a special treat to his listeners, Cool Nutz will also drop the follow-up to his hood classic, Collabos the same day. Yes, you read that right – 3 projects and 3 national tours in a matter of 10 months, pretty impressive for any independent artist.
With over 15 official albums under his belts, two major record deals (Universal & Atlantic), numerous national and European tours, collaborations with industry heavyweights including DJ Quik, Tech N9ne, BG, E-40, Mistah Fab, The Grouch, and many more – Cool Nutz continues to raise the bar with every release and deliver hard hitting street music with over 20 years off history to back up his resume. It’s already looking like 2016 is going to be a big year for Nutz and his label Jus Family. Be on the look out for N.P.Y. (Never Play Yaself) + Collabos II both dropping Tuesday, February 16th as well as Best & Worst Remix featuring Slum Village and Bosko dropping soon.
