Kevin Gates Announces the I Don’t Get Tired (#IDGT) Tour

Headline Dates Kick Off February 20th in Montgomery, AL; Nationwide Trek Heralds the #IDGT Movement Alongside Gates’ Current Single “I Don’t Get Tired (#IDGT) ft. August Alsina”; Tickets for the I Don’t Get Tired (#IDGT) Tour Are Available Now

NEW YORK, NY–(Marketwired – Jan 23, 2015) – Bread Winners’ Association/Atlantic recording artist Kevin Gates has announced a U.S. headline tour dubbed the I Don’t Get Tired (#IDGT) Tour. The dates will begin February 20th at Liquids in Montgomery, AL and continue through March 15th in Shreveport, LA. Tickets are available now viahttp://www.kvngates.com/tour.

The I Don’t Get Tired (#IDGT) Tour follows the release of Gates’ critically acclaimed LUCA BRASI 2: A GANGSTA GRILLZ SPECIAL EDITION MIXTAPE, which proved to be the Baton Rouge MC’s most successful release to date debuting at No. 3 on the Current Rap Albums Chart, at No. 5 on the Current R&B/Hip Hop Albums Chart and at No. 9 on the Overall & Current Digital Albums Chart.

The name of this tour coincides with the mixtape’s lead single “I Don’t Get Tired (#IDGT) Ft. August Alsina,” which has become an anthem for the #IDGT campaign and social media movement Gates started on Instagram last year. Gates’ use of the phrase, “I Don’t Get Tired,” represents his overall attitude as a rapper and parent with a relentless hardworking attitude. The #IDGT hashtag has been used over half a million times on Instagram alone, with countless placements on other social media platforms. Gates — who now has over 1.4 million followers on Instagram — released a companion video for “I Don’t Get Tired (#IDGT),” which surpassed 2.5 million views in less than one month. The video can be viewed at Gates’ official YouTube channel: http://youtube.com/kevingatestv.

Gates once again caught the attention of critics with the December release of LUCA BRASI 2, which has quickly proven among the most acclaimed hip-hop releases of 2014 — alongside Gates’ March 2014 release BY ANY MEANS. Rolling Stone named LUCA BRASI 2 “one of the year’s most consistent releases… Gates bridges the soft/hard divide like few others.” “It’s a ferocious piece of work,” agreed Stereogum. “People are going to realize that they need some fierce, high-stakes, urgent rap music like this in their lives, and they’ll find this tape. LUCA BRASI 2 is too good not to be heard.” “One of the year’s most compelling rap compilations,” raved Complex, “(LUCA BRASI 2) reaffirms the Baton Rouge native son’s place amongst hip-hop’s vast untapped talents.” Brooklyn Vegan claimed, “some of his best songs so far are on here,” while HotNewHipHop adds that “each track is full of incredibly detailed storytelling,” and “Gates is now well on his way to becoming a household name.” “(Gates) is a savvy rap songwriter and a gut-wrenching rapper,” decreed Pitchfork, “but his greatest achievement is more intangible: He feels like a person living inside his own records.”
