Karen Civil, Eric Bellinger, G Perico, Kap G and More Join Dreamville’s Cozz to Celebrate FRIENDSGIVING In New Reality Show Special

What would your Thanksgiving be like this year if J. Cole’s signee to Dreamville records, Cozz, invited you to join him for dinner? Find out for yourself tonight as BET premieres Friendsgiving, a two-part reality show that brings together a special group of friends who also happen to be some of your favorite artists and celebrities! To do Thanksgiving like it’s never been done before takes a special touch, and Friendsgiving executive producer Karen Civil was up to the task. As host of Good Looking Out on Complex and a media maven who still finds time to lead various humanitarian causes, Karen brought the perfect balance of humor and sensitivity to the Friendsgiving dinner table. As she remarked about the show, “It’s always great stepping outside my comfort zone to co-create and executive produce content to help move our generation forward.”

As Part 1 begins, Dreamville rapper Cozz puts the word out that food and drinks are going down at his new crib, and before long the lovely Ms. Civil is with him to welcome the Thanksgiving guest list that dreams are made of. The one-and-only Kap G, Roc Nation’s Victoria La Mala, Eric Bellinger, G Perico, viral comedy sensation Nick N Pattiwhack and “Times-Up” activist Mir Harris soon pull up, along with other famous faces. In addition to all the key players who show up on screen, this year’s BET Friendsgiving was executive produced by tech guru-turned-television-producer and Founder of Orchard Operations Dez White, who also developed Blac Chyna’s #1 selling app (in addition to the recent Nicki Minaj special “A Night With The Queen.”)

White also pulled in Echo Hattix of Echoing Soundz to produce the Friendsgiving special and explained in a recent interview how exciting it was to work with such a powerful team: “Executive producing alongside Karen Civil again was an easy yes after the Nicki Minaj special that she asked me to hop aboard with her and Dreamville. Karen is a visionary and working with Cozz and Echo Hattix was amazing. I hope viewers enjoy this special as much as we did making it.”
Despite man-of-the-house Cozz insisting through laughter that, “I don’t have guests often…I don’t like people,” the group of R&B singers, rappers, activists and more joke and talk their way through the good and bad of the Thanksgiving holiday while they reflect on what they’re grateful for the most. Things get sad at the memory of loved ones lost (as the mention of Mac Miller nearly brings Karen Civil to tears), but Friendsgiving is an overall fun-loving glimpse into the lives of some of our favorite artists when they’re not performing or recording. If real-life family drama is ruining your appetite this year, spend some time with this famous “family” as Friendsgiving Part 1 is released today, November 20th, with the Part 2 follow-up on November 21st.
