Can’t Breathe” is the powerful, politically charged new single from Infamous Mobb that takes aim at police brutality, corrupt government officials, and everyone else intent on oppression.
The track’s title is, of course, a tragic reminder of the countless deaths of Black people who have been killed by police, disease, and other causes. And as their own form of musical protest, the trio of Big Twins, Ty Nitty, and Godfather Pt. III linked with frequent collaborator Twiz The Beat Pro to create “Can’t Breathe,” the latest from the trio’s upcoming IM3 album.
Twiz sets the tone with a solemn blend of sounds that suits the mood of what we’re getting from Infamous Mobb, who are clearly fed-up and frustrated but also mourning the loss of so many lives. Their shared feelings are made very clear within the chorus’s poignant lyrics that include: “They mind-f**kin’ us real good/ Police’ll murder you in your own hood.”
