Dr. Dre’s $3 Million Lawsuit Against Death Row Records Rejected

Dr. Dre’s case against Death Row records has been thrown out, but he probably doesn’t care that much.

Dr. Dre‘s filed a lawsuit against Death Row records a few months back, requesting $3 million from the now bankrupt label. Dre was apparently looking for compensation for “mechanical royalties, artist-producer royalties, digital sales, and bonus pay”, though he had successfully sued the label in 2011 on similar grounds.

Since the Beats Mogul had already collected from Death Row, the judge agreed to throw out the suit at the request of the label’s Bankruptcy Trustee.

The suit apparently stemmed from The Chronic royalties, of which Dre said he had not been awarded since 1996.

Perhaps the fact that Dre just sold Beats Electronics for $3.2 Billion had something to do with his case against a penniless label being rejected. Either way, he’s probably indifferent to the case at this point.
