The sought after turntablist and multi-genre DJ has been an integral part of world-class acts Public Enemy and Prophets of Rage and, this spring joined the lineup of Cypress Hill.
A long-time cannabis enthusiast and advocate, DJ Lord – birth name Lord Aswod – announced the partnership today via his Official Facebook Page, saying he looks forward to helping move the industry forward as part of the BudTrader team. “Of course, the music I’ve always made has had a voice for cannabis, but I’m grateful for the opportunity to take an active part in legitimating cannabis across the board,” he says. “Much respect to Brad and his world-changing vision for BudTrader!”
CEO Brad McLaughlin met and got to converse with Lord at a cannabis industry event in spring 2018. “We hit it off immediately! I love DJ Lord’s enthusiasm for the industry and his down-to-earth way of connecting with people,” he explains. “DJ Lord is a genius/ He’s a true believer who wants to save the world. In addition to his role on the Advisory Board, the BudTrader team looks forward to DJ Lord’s participation at BudTrader events, when available. He’s the headlining performer for this year’s Annual BudTrader Ball on April 20 at Wisdome Art Park in Los Angeles. His unique mixing style will keep the cannabis industry holiday celebration going strong. This black-tie event has become the quintessential 420 party for Southern California, attracting VIP guests and industry leaders from around the country.
Lord has performed at everything from world class events like the Grammy Awards to festivals like Coachella and Glastonbury to top clubs around the world and has numerous battle titles including U.S. Finalist in I.T.F. and DMC.
