DJ Bille Knight Named Co-Chair of the Back to Basics: The Music-Entertainment Summit 2014

Los Angeles/San Diego (September 20, 2013) “Back to Basics: The Music & Entertainment Summit 2014,” the ultimate networking, marketing and promotions event for the music-entertainment industry, is coming to the Four Points by Sheraton, 8110 Aero Dr., San Diego, Calif. 92123, May 1-4, 2014.

Bille Knight, a native of San Diego, and one of the city’s most influential DJs, has signed on to be Summit Co-chair. Knight, a member of the Young California organization (an alliance of California-based artists and DJs), will bring his large network of DJs to the Summit. He will also conduct a panel session discussing a bevy of topics important to DJs today.

One of Knight’s greatest accomplishments was the success and longevity of The BK Lounge, a widely popular Hip-Hop Club located in Downtown San Diego from 1995 to 2000, which he ran along with MC Word Bond.

From there, Knight hit the airways on XMOR Blazin 98.9 FM, where he had the No. 1 mixshow, The Drive at Five. By now, DJ Bille Knight was considered one of the hottest DJ’s in San Diego and known to kill the airways with breaking hot new music! His passion for the industry, creativity and work ethic lead to his promotion of MixShow Coordinator. He was subsequently nominated for West Coast DJ of the Year in 2007.

Soon after, Knight was offered the position of Program Director at the world famous online radio station, JellyRadio.com; which at any given time had over a million listeners tuned in.
Knight has enjoyed continued success in his career. He is doing syndicated radio with Power 98.3 FM and can be heard in El Centro, Yuma, and Mexicali. He has been moving crowds on a national and international level for years. He’s played in cities across the U.S., including Los Angeles, New York and Chicago. Internationally Knight has played in Canada, Japan and Mexico. He has also opened for many major recording artists including Nas, Lloyd Banks, Busta Rhymes, Junior Mafia, Mop, Dead Prez, Tha Liks, Black Eyed Peas, The Pharcyde, Wu Tang, Xzibit, Glasses Malone, T.I., Mario, DJ Quik, The Roots, KRS-1, and more!

For the last three years, Knight has been hosting an event called the Artist Search where he brings in industry panelists from around the country to critique and judge local indie artists. He is also launching a new artist development firm, which will entail everything from management, consulting, marketing & promotional resources, and more.

Bille works with a company called Artist Auditions, which places independent artists on international shows and tours. Last year, four artists from San Diego were sent to perform in Japan. For more information, www.artistauditions.com
