Childhood Courts of N.B.A. Stars | Draymond Green

Years before Draymond Green became an N.B.A. star with the Golden State Warriors, he was known as Day Day, a tough and intense young player from Saginaw, Mich. We visited the recreation center where his no-quit attitude was shaped.

The rise to stardom for many N.B.A. players took root in the childhood courts that shaped them. Friends, relatives and coaches remember the hours of shooting, the toughness, the trash-talking and the drive that set these young players apart.
