Big Wy: Meeting Tupac, Banging on Wax, Young Soldierz & Relativez, Rap Influences. (Part 2 of 4)

Wytony Dillon, better known by his stage name Big Wy, is an American Rapper/Producer/Actor from Inglewood, California. Wy made his debut in 1993 as a member of Bloods & Crips on the album Bangin’ on Wax. While still a member of the group, Wy formed Young Soldierz, who released their self-titled debut in 1994. Wy later joined the Bloods-formed Damu Ridas and recorded the album How Deep Is Your Hood with the group in 1999. After the dissolution of the Bloods & Crips and its affiliated projects, Big Wy formed the duo The Relativez with former Young Soldierz member Suga Buga. The Relativez released three albums from 2000 to 2007 as members of Death Row Records. After a short period of musical inactivity, Big Wy came to prominence after forming the group Cali Swag District in 2010, who achieved international success with their single “Teach Me How to Dougie” that same year. Big Wy has been instrumental in the growth of West Coast Hip-hop and has worked with legends such as Tupac, Daz, Mack 10, Dogg Pound and many more. In this interview we get to know the West Coast legend Big Wy and the amazing stories throughout his career.
