2Eleven and Ice Burgandy to release joint project in 2013

Interest in Los Angeles hip hop has been restored. A lot of discussion has gone into the reinvention of the hip hop scene in Los Angeles. With such artists as Kendrick Lamar and Casey Veggies, Los Angeles has lyrical emcees, for the first time. Previously, from NWA down to Game, Los Angeles primarily was known for gangsta rap.

While Los Angeles is praising their lyricists, there is another generation of gangsta rap impacting the scene. Keeping gangsta rap alive is 2Eleven and Ice Burgandy. The two have remained friends, but have gone in opposite directions. 2Eleven is a member of CTE, the Young Jeezy-led crew, meanwhile Ice Burgandy is with Gucci Mane’s Brick Squad.

Despite their Atlanta crew leaders having differences, 2Eleven and Ice Burgandy hold the city of angels down when it comes to gangsta rap. With 2012 rapidly coming to a close, 2Eleven and Ice Burgandy gave an early Christmas present to gangsta rap fans.
