Steve Young spend a couple years in the USFL where he was drafted and givin a $40 contract. When the Niners picked him up in like 86, or 87 he backed up the best QB in the history of football. He was a competitor and mad great contributions when needed (including playoffs) until the team was handed over to him.
I agree the amount of years he was in dominating where not that many. Similar to a guy like Earl Campbell (look him up). That stretch from 1991-2000 was ridiculous. His career was cut short because of concussions but man was he a really geat QB and no doubt deservcs the gold jacket in Canton.
1. Never a losing season as a starter
3. 3-4 30 TD seasons
4. 70% completion percentage on 461 passes thrown in 1994
5. 33K yds passing plus 4K on the ground
the Hall of Fame was made for people like Young and Young has 3 rings not 1
