You'd think with just winning the Superbowl and how rowdy the 12th man is they'd want a couple primetime games in Seattle.

The end of the season is gonna be tough. With how good the division is gotta think 12-4 or 11-5 at best.

This stretch here is brutal:

Nov. 16: at Kansas City Chiefs, 1
Nov. 23: Arizona Cardinals, 4:05
Nov. 27: at San Francisco 49ers (Thu.), 8:30
Dec. 7: at Philadelphia Eagles, 4:25
Dec. 14: San Francisco 49ers, 4:25
Dec. 21: at Arizona Cardinals, 8:30
Whatever though, can't wait!
The NFL looked at our recent prime time games and realized we're too good for primetime spots. We've blown out everybody so badly at home that its bad for their ratings lol. I'm not making this up. They want closer games that people watch the entire time

Report: Seahawks worked out Kevin Williams on Monday

A six-time Pro Bowl defensive lineman who has never changed teams in a career spanning more than a decade has reportedly worked out for the defending Super Bowl champions.

Howard Balzer of The Sports Xchange reports the Seahawks tried out Vikings defensive tackle Kevin Williams on Monday.

The 33-year-old Williams has played 11 seasons for the Vikings, recording 463 tackles and 60 sacks. He has missed just five regular season games in his NFL career. Williams (6-5, 311) notched 29 tackles and 3.5 sacks in 2013.

Williams played 746 snaps for Minnesota a season ago, according to Pro Football Focus data. Were the Seahawks to add Williams, he would likely join Tony McDaniel, Brandon Mebane and Jordan Hill among the primary options inside. Williams would probably also see a reduction in reps. No Seahawks defensive tackle logged more than 546 snaps in the 2013 regular season, per PFF.

The Seahawks have taken a liking to some of the Vikings’ notable core players of recent seasons, most notably trading for wideout Percy Harvin last spring. Seattle also signed ex-Minnesota cornerback Antoine Winfield last offseason, but he did not make the club.

Julius Thomas: Seahawks didn't beat us -- we did

Published: May 1, 2014 at 10:23 a.m.

With Denver's Super Bowl thumping in the rearview mirror, Broncos tight end Julius Thomas has grown weary of the endless accolades directed at the defense of the Seattle Seahawks.

"I think a lot of talk has been made about how physical a defense is, and I know that can have an effect on the offense," Thomas said Wednesday, per Mike Klis of The Denver Post. "But I don't think that their defense is so much more physical than some defenses we've played."

Said Thomas: "I think more so (the loss was about) was what we didn't do, the things we left out there -- than them being physical."

Seattle's 43-8 coasting was flooded with hammer-dropping hits and smothering press coverage that left Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning searching for answers. Similar to what we saw the Colts do in a midseason win over Denver, the Seahawks more than just out-schemed the Broncos -- they manhandled them.

After Denver's offensive line put on a dominant showing over the Patriots in the AFC title game, the same group was outplayed and shoved around by a Seattle front that wanted this game more.

Thomas sees it differently -- that's fair -- but what millions watched that day was no myth. The Seahawks dropped a megaton bomb on John Fox and friends, and the Broncos are still sorting through the wreckage.

Broncos’ Julius Thomas: Seahawks defense wasn’t that physical in Super Bowl

Broncos’ Julius Thomas: Seahawks defense wasn’t that physical in Super Bowl

Posted on May 1, 2014 | By Stephen Cohen

If the news this week is any indication, the Denver Broncos are doing a lot of thinking about the Seattle Seahawks this offseason.

First came a report that Broncos players are using the term, “35!” — the Hawks margin of victory over the Broncos in Super Bowl XLVIII — as motivation during offseason workouts. Then on Wednesday, Denver tight end Julius Thomas told reporters that Broncos’ lack of execution had more to do with the Seattle victory than the physical play of the Hawks defense.

“I think a lot of talk has been made about how physical a defense is, and I know that can have an effect on the offense,” Thomas told the Denver Post in a piece published Thursday. “But I don’t think that their defense is so much more physical than some defenses we’ve played.”

The Seahawks’ style certainly seemed to do the job against Thomas, quarterback Peyton Manning and the rest of Denver’s record-setting offense in the Super Bowl. After catching 65 passes for 788 yards and 12 touchdowns during the regular season, and totaling 14 catches for 161 yards in the Broncos’ AFC playoff matchups against San Diego and New England, Thomas caught 4 balls for just 27 yards in the biggest game of the season.

Thomas’ absence was notable, and mostly attributed to the physical, intimidating nature of the Seattle secondary. The top-ranked Hawks’ D limited the league’s premier offense — which averaged 37.9 points per game in the regular season — to just 8 in the Super Bowl.

But it wasn’t necessarily the Seahawks defense that played the key role, according to Thomas. “We’ve played against good defenses,” he told the Post. “What we can’t allow a team to do is keep us from executing. I think more so was what we didn’t do, the things we left out there, than them being physical.”

Thomas chalked up the team’s disappointing effort more to the Broncos’ mistakes than the Hawks’ physicality. “The physical nature, it’s football,” he said. “Everybody has been hit and is used to it at this point. I think what really got us is our lack of execution.”

Seahawks sign Richard Sherman to contract extension

It was only a matter of time before the Seahawks signed All-Pro cornerback Richard Sherman to a contract extension, and that time arrived on Wednesday.

While continuing to prepare for the three-day NFL Draft that begins Thursday, the Seahawks took care of another significant priority Wednesday by signing All-Pro cornerback Richard Sherman to a contract extension.

The announcement was scheduled to be made during an 11 a.m. news conference at Virginia Mason Athletic Center.

Sherman, a fifth-round draft choice in 2011, was entering the final season of his rookie contract and general manager John Schneider had said repeatedly that signing Sherman to an extension was one of this top priorities this offseason. Last week, All-Pro free safety Earl Thomas was signed to an extension that made him the highest-paid safety in the NFL.

Sherman stepped into the starting lineup midway through his rookie season – as a third-option replacement because Marcus Trufant and Walter Thurman went down with season-ending injuries. But in the past three seasons, no one in the league has more interceptions (20) and passes defensed (60) than the 6-foot-3 Sherman.

And last season was his best, as Sherman led the NFL with eight interceptions and then made what has been dubbed the “Immaculate Deflection” to ice the Seahawks’ six-point victory over the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship game. Sherman tipped a Colin Kaepernick pass that was intended for Michael Crabtree in the end zone and linebacker Malcolm Smith made the interception with 22 seconds remaining in the Seahawks’ 23-17 victory.

Sherman then had three tackles and a pass defensed as the Seahawks’ No. 1-ranked defense throttled the highest-scoring offense in NFL history during a 43-8 victory over the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl XLVIII.

“Everything Richard has accomplished, it’s a testament to being where you’re supposed to be,” defensive backs coach Kris Richard said recently. “That’s when the good plays typically happen.”

Not to mention good things. After Sherman signs his extension he is expected to be among the highest-paid cornerbacks in the NFL, if not the highest-paid player at his position.
