I wish I can find a source or something, but my homie from Tijuana told me that Mayweather has asked Canelo if he can move the date from his fight. Now, I don't believe it and neither did he. But I guess after the whole WBC thing that happened recently, Mayweather caught wind that Cotto Canelo WILL happen, it's just not official. With Mayweather knowing that Mexicans run the Vegas strip those weekends they will more than likely go to a Canelo fight rather than a Mayweather fight.

LMAO!

"I'm the A-side," he added. "So if I'm the A-side, the A-side calls all the shots. Mayweather Promotions, Showtime Pay-Per-View, 147 unification bout, and that's basically it."

I just ran across that. Floyd said that on the 15th. There will NOT be a 147 fight because Manny is going to want the penalty, Floyd is not going to give in and this fight will fall to shit once again. Why mention Mayweather promotions? Why mention Sho when Manny is not contractually obligated to Sho? And again, Manny wanted $10 million for every pound Floyd was overweight, and will most likely go for that again considering his desire to fight opponents at lower weights.

Canelo, Bob and Oscar are already doing a spin job for Canelo to "take the day back" and said the day "belongs to mexican fighters" so who knows? If I were Floyd I'd tell Manny, YOU pick the date. Back him unto a corner, let him pick the date and then get it on. Since the Oscar fight, Floyd has only fought TWO non latin fighters and on one of those (Mosley) he still fought in May. So out of Floyds last ten fights you have 8 people of latin descent and 9 fights on the days important to the latin community. You cannot milk these people anymore. They have become wise to the game and have taken the steps to take the day back like they said.

The most concerning part is SHOWTIME PPV. Same thing he said on TV. We already know it can't happen on Showtime alone, it can only be HBO and Showtime. Fight ain't happening.

De La Hoya already said Canelo will move off May 2 for Pac/Mayweather:
O @oscard eLaHoya A @adrian soto2002 only if Pac maywether happens, Canelo will move from May.

Read the article, better yet, just focus on what you just took from the article and then read about previous negotiations and how weight was negotiated.

Manny and camp: "No catchweight and 147. Anything over that and you have to pay us $10 million like last time."

Floyd and camp: "Floyd Mayweather is not paying Manny $10 anything like last time because he is the B-SIDE and Floyd Mayweather is the A-SIDE. He has no room to negotiate"

Another hold up, this fight isn't going to happen.
I'm sorry I just don't see the weight as a hold up from THIS ARTICLE and it's content...Kontz stated we won't put up ANY ROAD BLOCKS this time NO CATCH WEIGHTS...they request the fight be at 147 lbs...Floyd weighed in at 146 lbs for Marquez so that's within the Welter Weight limit of 141-147. It makes no sense for Floyd to come in at 149 that would mean he didn't train at all for the 3-4 months in training camp if he walks around at 150-155 lbs. Bob Arum is THE PROBLEM not Adrien Broner lol.

Is Pacquiao exclusively signed to HBO...because I think I can bring up a link that says he's not...by Kontz...who then later says Pac can fight on Showtime if need be?

Let me help you out...here's the link and I'll let YOU explain to us about why it can't happen on Showtime alone WITHOUT HBO being involved.--->

Lennox Lewis: Floyd Mayweather Jr.-Manny Pacquiao like Mike Tyson - Ring TV

Showtime sports boss Stephen Espinoza addressed the issue with RingTV.com, appearing to say that if Mayweather-Pacqiao happens, it wlll have to take place on Showtime Pay Per View.

"There's one huge difference. Lennox Lewis had an exclusive contract with HBO," said Espinoza. "There's no reason that HBO should be part of a Floyd versus Manny fight when HBO didn't even bother to sign Manny to an exclusive contract."

Pacquiao's advisor, Michael Koncz, confirmed to RingTV.com that Pacquiao is not contractually bound to HBO.

"We're free agents," said Koncz. "We do not have a contract with any network. We're free agents."

^Lol.... Now that Mayweather turned the heat up, Team Pacquiao is looking for a way out.

Purse slit (not enough money)
May 2nd date (can't fight on that date because of Cotto vs Canelo)
And now they can't fight on Showtime (because of HBO)

If you want Floyd accept those terms and fight. Stop saying "I don't know why he doesn't want to fight me"....

LMAO!!!!

Nice try. That article is from April 13th. Pacquiao SIGNED A CONTRACT WITH TOP RANK AND HBO on MAY 21st. Koncz was obviously trying to get the highest bidder when that article was written (at the time his contact expired with TR and had no contract with HBO). That obviously has changed which is why every article regarding Pac vs May mentions the fact that Pacquiao is under contract with HBO and Floyd with Showtime.

These types of things will get the Tony's and the CZAR's of the board but you're not going to be able to slip some trash like that by me.

Again, they are saying 147. Not 148, not 149 not anything else. Last time they negotiated it was at 147 with a ten million per pound penalty if FLOYD was overweight, a penalty he actually agreed to at the time. There were NO CATCH WEIGHTS last time. With JMM, he was moving up in weight and had never fought at that weight before so they made the catch weight happen. What I'm saying is that Manny and team will push the issue of weight, especially since Floyd agreed before and because he (Manny) is already talking about moving back down.

And yes, Bob is the fuckin problem. Floyd offered him $10 million to step aside but Bob stays pimpin Pac so that can't happen.

So why throw Floyd under the bus and turn this into some racial pride shit and then turnaround and say that? Floyd wasn't even concerned about Oscar and did not disrespect people of the Latino community so why even go there?

This really doesn't say that Pacquaio signed an EXCLUSIVE deal with HBO...it shows he signed EXCULSIVELY with Top Rank...so is Top Rank bound to ONLY HBO or can Top Rank do business with Showtime at any time? If you can hit me with a link.

"We are pleased that together with our partners at HBO we will continue presenting to the public fights of the great Manny Pacquiao through the end of 2016," Arum said. "The partnership among Manny, Top Rank, MP Promotions and HBO has been a wonderful one for all parties and for the public and it's great that it will continue for the years to come."

I don't know even know the context of the quote. That's why I hate those Chris Williams articles it's just a small quote or two filled with his opinion. I'd have to see the interview in it's entirety to really understand the context (maybe he was asked specifically about Canelo demanding he fights on May 2nd and Arum commentated his opinion regarding that date).

That's a pretty damn absurd offer though man. No promoter, who would be co-promoting the biggest fight in boxing history, would step aside for $10 million, especially one of the biggest promoters in boxing in Top Rank.

Nothing useful from you in this thread as usual. Simple enough comment on my part - I don't know the context of the Arum quote Chris Williams provided - until I have the whole interview it's difficult to say anything at all about it. Find me the source of the quote and we can go from there. If not, it's not worth discussing a Chris Williams opinion piece.
