i have the 60g video ipod in black and im likin it. i bring that shit with me everywhere i go. use it to bump music on my computer, take that shit with me and bump it in the car. now i dont have to lug a bunch of cds around. man i'm bumpin shit that i haven't heard in hella long because of it.

I think you have to use the iTunes program, but you don't have to buy your songs from itunes.

you can rip music off of your cd's, but you can only buy music from i-tunes to put into your mp3 player. That means you cant go to napster, msn, musicmatch, etc, etc. i personally think that ipods are annoying unless they make them compatible with other sites other than itunes. their prices might be going up also (download prices).

Everything I downloaded from the siccness is on my IPOD including the videos. I have the 20GB one without video, but I download the videos to my IPOD like a hard drive. Yes you do need I-tunes to organize your library, but not to get music unless you "want" to purchase music. I rip my CD's, make music and convert it to MP3's, and download music from forums and P2P sites as well. I don't know why you're having problems, but as long as my music is in wav. or MP3 format I'm all good. If it is in WMA format, that works as well as long as you have Windows Media Player 10 with the encoder. It's free to download. As a matter of fact I got, some of ya'lls sig pics, I-Candy, programs, video, audio, text, and even can download post & PMs and read them in my "Notes" part of my IPOD. Mine is very useful and avery compatible with the Sicc. I can dig that aspect.

I've had 2 ipods a 15 gig and a Mini and they both took a shit on me. I'd take em snowboarding and they'd get all fucked up i think i was from the cold. i want some other mp3 player just to see if they all suck not just ipod was thinking about a sony 40 gig.. anyone have a sony? are they any good/

My Zen Micro is 6gb. Thing is great, plays wma and mp3 format. I like it becuase its small as as hell, and you can allocate a portion of the disk space for regular storage. Like say I want to keep 256 mb set aside for storage, I can go to a friends and copy photos, music, or any kind of files to the drive as well. It also has an fm radio and a recorder which you can record the radio, or from the internal mic. Ive seen all ratings equal to the ipod in magazines. You can also get it in a shitload of colors. It's also on sale everywhere for like $160.

An Ipod is a type of mp3 ( or music ) player. It's like the "IN" mp3 player. One of the reasons I didn't want to get the ipod is because I'm picky with the way my electronics look when I'm using them. My friends Ipod was all scuffed and scratched up, especially the back which is metal.

I heard that the sony players only play the sony format for digital music. This was a while ago so I dont know if they have changed that recently but I would make sure that it can play MP3's.
