Ellerbe fucked up by saying from the gate that they should wear Grant glove, then came back and said the brand doesn't matter. I had a homie that said that Maidana got paid so little cuz he didn't accept the buy off! I was laughing but after seeing this and Floyd all of a sudden talking retirement there might be some truth to it. On my cable system FS1 had an interview with Floyd and on the description it said "Retired boxer Floyd Mayweather." I was like WTF! But with all the business drama going on with GBP and even Broner wanting a fight with Manny, TMT is going down.

Both Argentina and the Philippenes are really poor, I'm curious how much PPV money those countries will really even bring in? I'd be shocked if this ppv sells well.
My homie lives in the Philippines and he told me all Boxing and UFC PPV events are free. Its just late. Like if the main event started in the states, they would still be on the co-main event.

Maidana has been using the MX style since they came out pretty much. This is really the pussiest thing I've ever seen leading up to a fight. All those gloves are completely legal and used regularly. Maidana used Winning against Morales though which was probably a negotiation that Morales used to make the fight like he did against Pac the first time. Gloves do make a significant difference, but if they're legal, nut up and fight like a man.

I'm not highly educated on the wealth of countries, but I don't think Argentina classifies as really poor. Everything I looked up shows them in the 50-60 range where as Philippines are in the 120-140 range.

Either way they'll do just fine in Argentina, they support their local fighters just as well as any country and it's a boxing country regularly holding televised fights on TyC.

As for the Philippines they have screenings of Pac fights with ridiculously long ads in between rounds. i.e. Filipino fans watch Manny Pacquiao fight Brandon Rios in Manila | Demotix.com
Overall, I think the country isn't anywhere near as poor as the Philippenes but there is a huge number of poor people there and those who are poor, are significantly poor. Either way, hopefully they can get somewhere to see the fight for their boy. Down in TJ, when Morales was fighting the fight was on everywhere that had a tv it seemed like. Restaurants, bars, etc... all had the fight on

They've always shown fights in Mexico for free, every since I can remember. In the Spanish channels in San Diego I would have to wait until midnight, but now you just disconnect your cable box and you watch it live for free. That's why Canelo leaving Televisa is a big deal cuz the competition shows Tecate sponsored fights only I believe which is another loss for GB and Corona.

It can only hurt his sales, not help. He even came out on a phone interview addressing Alex Ariza and his concerns about that as well. Robert Garcia saw through everything though and called it off as well. How can it help? Controversy is one thing, but ducking is another. They are saying everywhere that Floyd needs 1.5 milli buys to satisfy Showtime and we all know he won't reach that. This topic is not something that was like on CNN or something like when Jon Jones caused UFC there ppv a while back. That really did make the news.

I don't know that I've outright picked against Floyd in years, and I think he should be heavily favored in this fight and I expect him to win like 10-12 rounds on a decision, especially given the way that Maidana looks like he's fading late in fights. But I think Maidana is definitely the best puncher that Floyd has faced in YEARS. Not as good as Shane was, but better in some respects. Better than Canelo, Hatton, and even Cotto in a lot of ways. But his crappy footwork is going to make it hard for his best shots to get here they need to. Floyd is no Broner. I want to pick Maidana to shock the world here, but I just can't.

Honestly if Maidana lands good body shots like hes capable of doing he could put Floyd in some real trouble. Hes so aggressive i cant see Floyd blocking and countering all his punches. However Floyds handspeed may be a little much for Maidana. If Mayweather were to lose id rather see him lose to a fighter i like like Maidana

I think some people are underestimating how much Maidana is going to hit in this fight. People seem to think Mayweather can't hurt people because if he can coast to a decision he will, but Maidana is going to be coming forward and get smoked. I got a feeling it's gonna look like the Alexander fight x50.
That's exactly the reason Floyd is an 18-1 favorite at some places.

Yeah I didn't mean it in the sense that everyone's picking him just that I think it'll be a demolition to the point where I can't think of anything Maidana can do here. I'm actually leaning towards Floyd stopping him over it going 12

I can actually see this fight basically going the way that Hatton was going, but worse. I think Maidana will start to become a stationary target after like the 4th or 5th round. He doesn't really swell or cut from what I remember but I wouldn't be surprised to see that change here. It's all up to Floyd though. Floyd has ALWAYS had that ability to be that guy, but he also coasts to wins these days. Can't discredit him for that because it equals rounds which equals wins, but it leaves something to be desired since he probably could've been stopping guys in the last 6 years like he did against Hatton.
