interesting.. then my next question is what happens to my self awareness? if a person in a coma can dream, how long can the brain sustain thought patterns even if the brain isnt having blood or oxygen being supplied?

Energy cannot be created nor destroyed and I believe that consciousness, or the mind is separate from the brain, so I voted "Yea".

How can "consciousness, or the mind" be "separate from the brain?" If a person has brain damage to a specific part of the brain that impairs their cognitive abilities, isn't that proof enough that consciousness and thought is physical? Are we still living in the dark ages? How, in the year 2007, can people believe that the brain is not responsible for our thoughts?

Yes, and I don't have to define a soul with scientifically sound Definitions. I believe in a soul because I walk in faith and not necessarily scientifical reasoning. Remember people are still studying the metaphysical and it's still a mystery to many. Maybe it's because I'm biased due to my religion, but that would be too vague of an answer. Maybe it's beyond a response I could give. SO YES!

You cannot define a soul, that's why you chose not to. You don't have to use "scientifically sound definitions" just prove a definition.

Ok then, the Essence of the Body, Mind, and Emotions. The Final Form of a Human Being. Should I describe it's image, a distorted person with a semi-visible view of itself. That's the first form, the final form is fully flesh and spirit. Immortal.
