As far as the stoppage goes, I'm fine with it. They had the doctor look at Angulo between the round prior and consult with the ref. He probably said if he takes any more stop it. Angulo was taking a lot of punishment and I think Magomhed is still in everyone's minds whose basically in a vegetated state, his family is suing NY Athletics commission for $100,000,000 no body wants that again. Sometimes these guys with good chins and just won't go down, those are the most dangerous fights because they take so much punishment over the course of many rounds. Like Magomhed, he went the full 12 rounds and fell into a coma an hour later. It's a tough call but if the fight is completely one sided, and it's a beat down, no need to risk any serious injury.

Look, I am fine with protecting the fighter but that was one punch. Hunter was going to stop the fight, but I just think the ref stepped in a bit too early. He had a good 7 round, a good 8th, let off the gas for the 9th and the rest...

I just think that shit was a bit premature, but then, like you said, we can't have another Magomhed.

And truth be told, Hunter should have told him that shit in like the 5th or 6th round.

Yeah it was a bit premature, but like you said no one wants another Mago and Angulo had no shot in there at that point. His punches weren't phasing Canelo at all. It's kinda like when Paulie got stopped by Ricky Hatton. Yeah Paulie probably would have made it to the end but he was getting beat down and no power to get back in the fight, ref just waivef it off at a random point, Paulie was upset but lived to fight another day.

Angulo, he has a couple bad losses already, KOd by Kirkland and stopped by Lara (face all disfigured), he's not going to be around much longer.

Bad stoppage! Angulo was taking some bombs tho, I give it to Canelo he learned some moves since the Mayweather fight. I thought he would tire out by the 8th round but he got stronger. Angulo never cut off the ring, and his punches didn't seem to have his normal pop like in the Lara fight.

Angulos entrance to the ring speaks volumes. You all go back and watch his entrance.

And his punches were shit. Nothing behind 99% of them. And he didn't fuckin listen to this corner. Vergil told this fool nigga Angulo to go to the body. What does he do? Walk towards Canelo and try to go for the head. He then tells him to jab. What does he do? Walk towards Canelo and try to tie him up. He tells him for 6 rounds straight to let his hands go and he finally decides to only he is swinging and hitting like he is a fuckin straw-weight. WTF????????

Yeah I dunno there's something about Angulo where sometimes he's really strong other times he looks kinda weak. Against Cintron he had no power at all. Against Lara he looked beastly at times. He hurt James Kirkland, then Obviously faded and got KOd. Maybe it was just Canelo made him look weak.

I don't think Lara thinks his fight against Canelo would be so easy. Canelo looks like the Tim Bradley of the 154lb division. Maybe no KO power but respectable power, pop and accuracy.

Yeah, I saw a bit more movement from Canelo. He took some flush shots but they didn't have any power on them so it didn't matter.

But still, I really question his stamina and conditioning. He would have gone 12, but this was against a man who came into the ring like he just woke up from a $20 sack nap and didn't know where the hell he was. You put Canelo in there with someone who lets em go, and who can move, and he is gonna have a hard time.

I disagree. He has plenty of stoppages at 154 while Bradleys last stoppage was like 2011 or 2010 or some shit. He is definately not the Tim Bradley of the 154. That would actually be Floyd or some of the other guys with minimal ko's and stoppages.

Well you know styles makes fights. Canelo didn't look good against two fighters, Floyd and Trout. Counter punchers. Lara is a counter puncher that moves. He won't stand in front of Canelo like a punching bag.

If not Lara, how about James Kirkland? Guaranteed entertainment.
Thats what im talkin bout! A James kirkland fight would be huge

I think Canelo handles Kirkland with same ease as Angulo. Kirklands footwork is worse than Angulo. You can't hit what u can't see. Canelo after that loss to Floyd appreicates defense!

Its similar to Infantry basics. A rifle beats a submachine gun any day from distance. Canelo's jab won't lose to kirklands ala Brando Rios' style after his Floyd fight

And I say that w/ Luv for Kirkland. He ain't nothin but a 154 Darnel Wilson
I went to see Kirkland vs Joel Julio on HBO years ago and still enjoy him as a fighter. But let's be real ok

Kirkland is a different kind of beast than Angulo, let's get that straight right now! Now, Canelo very well could beat him but Kirkland isn't as slow as Angulo. When he gets going he's a machine.
