^^ I agree, that Murray/GGG fight isn't bad on paper. I wish it wasn't in Monte Carlo tho.

The Cotto/Canelo negotiations are probably going to be ridiculous. Canelo brings more money to the table IMO and I would think he would know that. Oscar doesn't want to step on Arum's toes though and F this deal up. A loss for Canelo here really damages his career too, at least to me. I think a lot of Mexican fans are going to be pretty pissed if this dude gets owned by Floyd and Cotto and ESPECIALLY do not lose to a Puerto Rican on a Mexican holiday. But Cotto is a little ho and will want everything he asks for in negotiations. We'll see if it happens. Good for boxing if it does.
2-0-Sixx @2-0-Sixx ,
I agree. Cotto will have defended it against a JMW and a WW if those fights happen while the obvious and clear choice to really defend that title would be against GGG. But this is boxing.

Yeah, Cotto is a fucking diva, he went all Mariah Carey on Martinez demanding his name first, date, venue, Ring walk, etc, even talk about not allowing Martinez to wear a knee brace lol.

But in the end the money is just too much to pass on, plus who else out there could Cotto realistically fight. It's only Canelo unless he wants to make less money against a more dangerous opponent in GGG. the only thing that could screw this up is if Cotto insists on having a tune up first, which he seems to do after every big fight.

Yeah, that Canelo money would be retirement money at this point. It's not like Cotto hasn't hung some L's in huge fights. Does a loss even really tarnish his legacy much? He could lose and retire on that fight and I don't think people would dog him too much for losing to a bigger, younger, stronger guy but I guess they might say the Martinez win was a sham if that happened

Just like Rubio was, just like Geale was, just like Stephenson was lol. Let me know when he actually fights someone good. Got Em!!
Geale was ranked in the top ten and a previous champ if I'm not mistaken. Rubio was a previous champ. Stevens was a previous champ, ranked in the top ten and they fought for two vacant titles. He is fighting those in his division which is all he is supposed to do. He isn't saying "Oh you don't have a fan base" like some of these fighters. He isn't saying "talk to such and such" like some of these fighters. He is clearing out his division and collecting belts and heads. People are ducking him, that's a fact.

Let me type this again since you don't seem to understand. Murray only has one loss and that was against Sergio. The majority of people who saw that fight and reported on it thought Murray was robbed. Aside from that he has a draw with Sturm who has 12 successful mw and smw title defenses.

Stop trolling nigga!

Yes, Geale was a previous titlist who narrowly lost to Barker. He's a formidable guy and if you don't think that knocking him out in dominant fashion was impressive, you're trippin Czar. He may not have had the punching power that GGG has, but he was still skilled. Better than Broner's last 2 opponents for sure.

Murray is better than all those guys. I guess Murray beating Sergio Martinez in most people's eyes, in Argentina two years go doesn't mean much to you.

All the guys GGG has been fighting are top ten guys so he's doing what he's supposed to be doing (clearing out the division and collecting belts).

he did us all a favor with Rubio since Rubio was once again named the #1 mandatory to the WBC belt. By GGG beating him Rubio can finally go away and also by beating Rubio that made Golovkin the #1 mandatory to the WBC belt. it was a smart move because now it will force Cotto or Canelo to fight him, and if they do duck then they'll be stripped of their title. If GGG didn't fight Rubio and take his mandatory spot, there would be no obligation for Cotto or Canelo to fight him.

I thought Martinez beat Murray close. Didn't think he was robbed there, but I could see people giving him the fight. Now he most certainly was robbed in the Sturm fight. No way that fight was a draw or even close to it.

At this rate GGG will have all the belts without fighting anyone for the actual belt. It's getting ridiculous. When people talk about the Middleweight division, they talk about the fights NOT being made and who Cotto MIGHT fight. Throw in the occasional knocking of GGG for "not fighting anyone" and this is your Middleweight division.

Why would you call Cotto a diva 2-0-Sixx @2-0-Sixx ? Martinez was the champ and he did not have to accept any of those conditions. Now, I know Cotto has a deal for his fighters and Top Rank but those guys aren't on HBO, either. But that's for his fighters. What about him and HBO?

Because he is a diva. Don't you remember the crazy negotiations? like I said, Sergio was champion and Cotto dictated everything. i get that he's the bigger name, but demanding his name is first in the posters and promotions, that he comes to the ring last, the catchweight, even the knee brace, he demanded his crappy fighters on the undercard, etc. These are diva qualities. Of course Martinez accepted, all he cared about was a payday.

oh yeah, against Trout I believe it was he wouldn't train at a certain location and wanted to be closer to home so that his personal groomer (the person who waxes or plucks his eyebrows) could be near him lmao. DIVA!
