This is some shit which knocked me off my feet, I'd appreciate any feedback from you cats on here who know 40 (DankSinatra, Done Deal) whether this is true?
I took a call a couple of hours back from a cat I know who deejays and promotes for a lot of Hip Hop and R&B night clubs, and is always looking to do it big.
Dude has brought a couple of big names to nights he has put on, and is on the Def Jam UK street team and has the hook up on a gang of promos all the time.
Anyway, cuz calls me up trippin because another promoter got at him with an offer to bring a three-night West Coast tour over to the UK real soon this year.
The main names quoted to him was DJ Quik and E-40 as the headline acts for each of two of the nights (he was told 40 would be the last night lol) at a cost of £9,000 ($15k+) per show.
He gave me the 411 straight away cuz he knows I'm always bumpin 40, and he said the promoter was claiming he had Quik and 40 already locked down for a night each if the money was there.
He said it was some dudes called 'Shotgun promotion' or some shit and he's going to holla at the cat over prices real quick this week... but I need to know if this shit is for real.
I got to be honest and say I don't know that there are that many people over here who know 40 so I'm wonderin if this is legit or if that really is a direction 40 would be interested in...
...but cuz says this dude was marketing it as a Westcoast 2pac tribute tour with some classic West coast acts and you know how that Pac shit will sell to any kid with one hip hop CD in his collection.
Anyway... I'm still trippin on the idea that 40 might bring it out to the UK, if Rhythm X or Chuck @ Done Deal want to confirm if this is some faulty promoter or some possible shit, that would be tight....
