Sorry that I have missed everyone for a little while now. I spent a couple of weeks in the hospital with pneumonia, and needless to say when I finally did get out it took me another week before I had enough energy to get up in my wheelchair. I really love this time of year in the wrestling business because of the build up to WrestleMania. It’s almost as exciting as WrestleMania itself…but notice I said almost. This is the big game, the Super Bowl of wrestling and everybody involved in this spectacle is hoping that they are at the tip top of their game when that bell rings. We have a lot of matches to go through, so let’s get started.
WWE Champion John Cena vs. Triple H: I have to say that I really have enjoyed John Cena’s reign as champion, but I don’t know if it is his time to continue. I think that with the experience that Triple H has, it is a fair assessment that he will walk away with the gold and be the new WWE Champion.
World Heavyweight Champion Kurt Angle vs. Randy Orton vs. Rey Mysterio: As I have stated before, Rey is by far my favorite wrestler; but with Kurt being a friend of mine, it is hard to pick against him. Believe it or not though, I am going to have to go with Rey on this one…the smallest man in the match with the biggest heart will pull this one out in the end and become the new World Heavyweight Champion, all 165 pounds of him.
Mr. McMahon vs. Shawn Michaels (No Holds Barred Match): With everything that Mr. McMahon has done to batter and bruise Shawn Michaels over the past few months, it seems only fitting that HBK will get his revenge on “the man” and leave him a bloody mess. You know that everyone out there would love to have a chance to pummel their boss and this is his chance once again to do some serious damage.
Money in the Bank Ladder Match: There are so many great superstars in this match that it is really hard to pick just one. I feel that Bobby Lashley has come a long way, but I don’t see him quite ready for that big jump. I honestly see RVD winning this one. I think that he will be the fan favorite, and although he has only been back for a few months since his injuries, I feel that he is more than deserving of winning this one and getting his shot.
Undertaker vs. Mark Henry (Casket Match): Sorry folks, but Undertaker’s streak will not end at this WrestleMania. Mark Henry is a mountain of a man, but with Undertaker’s vast experience in his many years of wrestling, Henry will end up in the casket when it is all said and done.
Edge vs. Mick Foley (Hardcore Match): I hate myself for doing this, but I see Edge coming out on top of Mick Foley in this one. I never thought those words would come out of my mouth, but Edge is going to find some way to win this one…but not before Mick takes him to the brink of destruction.
United States Champion Chris Benoit vs. JBL: Benoit has been a great US Champion and with Bradshaw coming off an injury it seems that he would be very open to getting injured once again. There is also a huge size difference, but Benoit makes up for it with a huge heart, intensity and superior wrestling skills. Benoit will retain the championship.
World Tag Team Champions Kane & Big Show vs. Chris Masters & Carlito: Here is another one that I hate to go with, but I see Masters and Carlito beating the two giants who currently own the World Tag Team Championship. These two youngsters will find a way to win and become the new champions.
Women's Champion Trish Stratus vs. Mickie James: Trish has held the Women’s Championship for quite some time now, but believe it or not I see Mickie and her very disturbed mind winning the championship from Trish and becoming the new off the wall Women’s Champion.
Boogeyman vs. Booker T & Sharmell: Since he first arrived, the Boogeyman has risen up the ladder quite quickly. I love him; the worms are top notch and it will be good to see him in a high profile match. I think that Booker T might be a little too worried about Sharmell to have his full concentration on this match. The Boogeyman will come out on top…because he is coming to get you!
Torrie Wilson vs. Candice Michelle (Playboy Pillow Fight): As always there are no losers for the fans of this match, but I see Torrie’s exceptional pillow skills putting Candice down for a 1-2-3. Then again, who cares who wins, this is going to be good stuff!
Hopefully all of you will be tuning in to WrestleMania on Sunday. Once again I would like to ask all of you to keep all of our soldiers and their families in your thoughts and prayers, as well as the hurricane victims. These are very trying times and those thoughts and prayers go a long way.
Until next week…
Droz - Peace
