would anybody recommend a external dvd / cd burner?

i got my laptop back after 2 and a half weeks of waiting just to find out my burner is still not reliable. sent it in to get fixed for that same problem but it was worse then. it would just eject all my cd's and dvd's. does anybody on here have an external burner and would you recommend a certain brand over others?

i might be able to get a new laptop with the warranty i have, but i'm in no hurry to do that, i have till 2012 to do that and i bet that would be a one time thing.

Got two more times to fix it before I get a replacement laptop. Will hold out till 2012 to do that and use an external for now just need a recommendation on a good model. It's cyber Monday got a few hours for suggestions?

Plug and play will do just fine. Or why don't I just take my ass to amazon and read theirs. Personal testimony's still welcome though.
