What are some of the top worst horror films you've ever forced yourself to sit through.

2 come to my mind straight away, and not because of cheesey special effects or bad acting.

1st Cannibal Holocaust.

This flick has quite a reputation. It's considered by some (I dunno who the fuck who) to be the most violent movie ever made. The flick has animal activists in an uproar do to the execution of real animals. It's also earned the title (again by I dunno who the fuck who) as a cult classic.

Problem is that the film is slow & boring. It's a film about a damn film for crying out loud. The violence is extremely dull and emotionless. The animals executions are a bit disturbing but most of them were rather quick with only the dismemberment of a turtle being drawn out. ...and well thats it, I don't even know what to complain about. The film just sucked.

2nd is Cannibal.

This film is based on a well documented true story in germany about a man who found another man through the internet who let him kill and eat him. What every description of this film fails to mention is that for 30 minutes in the middle is nothing but softcore gay porn. I've seen Salo and half to say this is far worst. I did skip the entire middle section because there is some shit I just don't want to see. However the sad part about this film is that the gore is absolutely top notch. ..but when your victim is willing it doesn't create any form of distress or emotion. Had this film been only the last 30 minutes as a short, it probably would go down as a classic. The story really destroys this one, that and the whole unneeded fag fest in the middle.

Hood Of The Living Dead - turned it off after about ten minutes
H.P. Lovecraft's The Tomb - Had H.P. Lovecraft on the cover so I gave it a try. Turned it off just a couple minutes into it.

Edit: Didn't see the "sat through" part, so these:

Sleepaway Camp 3 (Got the DVD Box Set, so I had to...)
Fear Dot Com (fan of Jeffrey Combs, so I had to...)

I saw hood of the living dead and was annoyed with it, but by far the worst horror film I have ever seen is day of the dead 2 they should be beaten for even trying to make you think it had anything to do with the original movie I cut it off half way thru and was pissed that I wasted my money on renting it. There are more but thats the main one I can think of at the moment

Horror movies in general are some of the worst movies I've ever seen. I'm not a fan of the genre so that gives me bias, but they are often some of the most poorly constructed films with terrible stories, acting, plots, etc.

Conversly, when they are well done I think I tend to regard them better than other films of different genres because I typically think horror movies are for shit. So when I think one is good I think it must be something special.

This is an odd statement, because I think 2 out of the 3 films you listed as your top 3 are absolutely horrible. (Event Horizon, Dawn of the Dead)

I have to say the Childs Play movies, I think that's the name - the ones with Chucky. I thnk they are horrible for a Horror movie but also find them hilarious comedy so I don't hate them. I don't watch this genre too often and I haven't heard of any of the ones you guys listed but I'll take your word for it.

Lmfao...that's awesome.

The worst horror movie I've ever seen was probably Cabin Fever. I remember seeing the previews and thought it was gonna be awesome, so my girlfriend and I went to see it in the theater and it was fucking horrible. She kept wanting to leave, and I was like, "It's probably about to get good." It never did lol.
