when i try to extract a file now it asks for a password whats the deal? i didnt make a password so what is it?

If you downloaded something from a website it might just be the of the website, like www.yourgettingavirus.com.

i downloaded it directly from www.winzip.com so its not a virus

I dont know about that dude, I dowloaded a program called zipreader and a program called winrar, not sure about setting passwords though.

The only time Ive been asked for a password using winrar, it was something I downloaded from www.albumhunt.com, and the password was "www.albumhunt.com". Ive never set a password for any program like that.

who ever made the zip/rar file added a password with it. you cant extract it until you know the password.
