I just don't get it. It's truly sad.

In my opinion they should drop that project deadman shit and spend some money getting kutt and skatter & snug heard. Not that project deadman has done any better. Poor promotion was what put tech in the shitter with jcore. Well, shitty promotion and some other shit. But If I was Kutt, or Skatter and Snug, I think I would be pretty upset and feel kind of like Tech did.

Your thoughts people........

Yall can call it what ya want. Until you know the numbers, and what really went down then its all a guess... You can only promote so much after an album drops.

Shit, you hit 100 cities tough on a tour in one year, then whuddaya call that...?
There isnt one major artist that you can say even did half of that in they career, especialy in a year. They'd be complaining about the flu or headaches or vocal chord problems and cancel the sencond half of their tour couped up in the Radisson drinking tea listening to mozart whining. Strange got out there and grit the whole time endlessly. It wouldnt make sense putting it on the local radio cause they some bitches, especially a major radio market, but you cant stop a Tech show, no way no how. Thats why they went on tour and sold CD's every night of the tour. You cant beat that with a stick. Whether you like it or not, Tech shows will put you on, and if Strange knows that Major push as an indep. label wont work, then why waste millions when you can waste..... "thousands"...(Okay, I love Austin Powers so I had to say it!!!)

But you should catch my drift? If you've been to the Tech shows, you'll know...

for real man. you got a point. we fans dont necesarily see or hear about all the cd's sold at the shows and they DO tour alot. but it all happens without enough people knowing. lol @ wasting thousands.

I don't think it's the lack of promoting, I believe it's the time frame they are given to promote the album/artist. Instead of dropping an artist or two they should promote the artist that's getting ready to drop an album 2-3 months before hand and give at least 4-5 months before another artist drops an album. Just my opinion don't know if they do that but that's just my opinion.

Kutt'z album was good but it just needed more time to be promoted, does any one know how many records were sold? And plus I believe STRANGE is doing the best that they can in promoting each artist on the lable if it was a problem for the artist don't you think the artist would have left by now? And like some one said they sell the cd's while they are on tour, and they are all over the place touring like CRAZY isn't that promoting????

There are some things that I wished Strange would do on the promo tip. I'd like Strange to roll up to Awards shows like they are supposed to be there and shit, invade shows, be in everybody's ears like pest...

I would also like Strange to pick up a Rock group, even after the big deal nab a Rock group and be so eclectic and well rounded they cant be touched... Fuck following suit and picking up 14 rappers, fuck with the whole market and just do it...

Shit, selling 15 albums a night on a 50 city tour is pretty swell...

I dont know if yall remember the old days when the rapper prior to the the following rapper would come out, they'd throw some bonus tracks at the end to promote the next artist. And instead of Tech doing another DVD, just throw in a extra CD... Maybe a mix CD of some ill shit from Strange... orrrr, split it up in 3rds and just put tracks from everyone on the label. Strange is top notch when it comes to incentives...

i have to say to travis, on behalf of craig and i. less street snipes, and more snippits. I HATE PUTTIN UP THOSE DAMN POSTERS ON LIGHT POLES TIL 5 AM ALL OVER K.C.

Yeah that shit is a bit rude......especially when cocksuckers go back and take them down 5 mins after you leave.

BTW this topic has already been through the washer too many times before. No need to keep re-hashing it.

The money that has been put into promotion for these albums is more than most independent artists spend on an entire project (recording, promoting, touring). Think about it......we got about a half dozen guys in Kansas City who go and promote with some supervision....plus rogue street teamers across the nation that get promotional supplies shipped to them. Now weather they get that shit to the streets or not is never known. Half of it is probablly sitting under beds, in closets and garages across america. So the "money and the time wasted" on other projects isn't the problem. It's the lack of man power to get that shit out there.

I'm not going to put Travis' business out there like that, but I can tell you he probablly hasn't made near as much money as he has invested into Strange Music. So saying he or the company doesn't care about Kutt or SS or whoever the label has pushed is a down right insult.

I'm pretty sure Trav and Tech would have been just happy as could be if it was just Tech N9ne and nobody else. But they have tried to open up the doors for these other talented motherfuckers and it just hasn't paid off as much as they hoped yet, but It will though......soon.

Everyone has some good points here. I wasn't trying to insult anyone directly at strange music. But if you ask me. Are they doing a good job? My answer is no. It seems as if going after that slow nickel rather than a fast quota is their plan.(credit to e40 on that line) I mean, the show I went to in tucson for the AP tour, there were no ads, no commercials, and not too many people in a big ass theatre. Maybe they aren't failing, but they are definetly struggling. With 3 hot artist and no major label distributor it seems like this shit will be underground forever. Which I don't mind. But it IS sad.

It makes you wonder sometimes... How in the hell did Tx. get back on the map before (KC) Strange... I mean, Tx. is grinding heavy, K.C. is grinding extra heavy but... the answer to that is simple...

U.N.I.T.Y........................

There are cats in the city that think they bout to blow, and all by themselves cause they got a halfway decent single... K.C. aint about to do shit as a whole... Soon as one nigga blows, the city is gonna turn on him/her... All because it was "fuck you" when you down, he left us when he blew up... Fuck K.C. if you ask me...

for reals, the posters tend to ALWAYS get taken down by assholes..I remember me and other street teamers hitting up Sunset Blvd with posters, but they got ripped down and shit...same thing for the posters around Staples Center. The cd snips are probably the best way to help get Strange artists out there even more. What Nick said about the promotional shit being mailed to street teamers is true because I remember some people saying how alot of their promo shit is just chillin under their beds, that's why I have and still do incourage others to take pics of them promoting Strange Music artists...and believe it or not,but many many juggalos ALSO have shown alot of heart when it comes to street teaming...I remember when me and Craig hit up an ICP concert in Anahiem..we were getting kicked out, but a bunch of juggalos went up to us and got alot of Strange promo stuff to pass out around the venue after we left and was down to put posters and pass out cd's around their towns.
