I ended up buying the mpc 1000 vs the 2500. First off I'm going say I'm a asr10 man and have been for 10 years, love it. But when I go to the studio and I live up stairs, carry that mother****** is a pain in the a**. Now learning that asr10 was hard for me. So I told myself this is it I ain't learning anything else. So I stuck with it and it worked for me. I would see mpcs almost at every studio I went to professional and non professional. Never touched one because I was stuck in that asr10 and nothing else mentality. But when they released that mpc 1000 for such a cheap price I was like let me check the specs. Come to find out it was like my asr10 but not as deep but the size of a laptop, witch I really liked. This was fine for me because I can still use my asr but have the mpc be the master. Now from my point of view I love the asr,but the mpc sequencer is so much easier way easier, but that comes with knowing the terminology and knowing how to build a song. The only thing that put me through a loop was the pads, wasn't used to it. But after a while its all good. So I was strap for cash at the Guitar Center its either the 1000 or the 2500, now keep in mine I'm coming from a asr10 carry it to different sessions, not less they had one. That 1000 look so tight, and he told me the new 1000 "black" 2.01 O.S does everything the 2500 does accept a couple of things. But you want have a cdrw I'm like oh well everything is computer based now anyways. So I got it and love it . They got a beta 3.4 O.S floating out there that does everything the 2500 does. But I'm a wait for Akia to release their version to make it official. So far so good, I'm loving it. The learning curve from 1-5 5 being the hardest I give it a 2.5. I hope this can help anybody else in their decision making on getting a mpc 1000 its not 4000 but it fits my needs. 1
