Ya the ebay fees are ridiculous, I owed for one month $275 and that is a fuck of a lot of cash just to list items and sell.

I don't remember the most I've paid, but then if the buyer uses paypal they charge you grip for that too sometimes! Those blood suckers, I'm thinking of using a cheaper method for receiving payments & only listing when there is a listing sale.

Shit, I think us sellers should inform each other of any eBay promotions that's going on that particular day or so: Free Listings, Free Gallery, 1/2 off listings, $0.10 listing Fees, etc. so that we can all save some money. eBay usually will inform people on their homepage when you first get on their site, but then again who sits there and looks at the homepage? They rarely e-mail people of such promotions as well which really sucks!

I really, really, really hate eBay and paypal. Not only are the fees crazy, they have the worst customer support in the world. I am having a credit card problem and 3 different people have told me three different things. Apparently I can't register a card because I failed too many times (which if I recall was one time) so I am blocked for 7 days from the last time I tried to register a card. I basically have to guess when the last time I tried one was. I can't list anything until the block is up and eBay cannot reverse it.

I've paid well over $600 a month in listings, but now my sales approach has changed due to this.
Here's my recent sales approach change...

What I did was increased my S&H fees.. rather than charging $3.00 (U.S.) & $5.00 (Int'l & Canada), I now charge $3.50 (U.S.) & $6.50 (Int'l & Canada). In case you guys didn't know the actual USPS shipping prices, eBay & Paypal fees has increased in the past years so our old S&H prices do not really cover those fees anymore. I calculated everything out from the bubble mailers, paypal fees, eBay listing/upgrade/End of Value fees & actual shipping fees and my old S&H prices weren't really covering those overhead costs.

Yep. If you send to Austrailia, it's gonna cost even more.

I THINK IM GOING TO DO THIS FROM NOW ON,AND WHAT IF THEY WANT 2 OR MORE DO YOU DO SOME TYPE OF DEAL ON SHIPPING THERE?? DOES IT COME OUT AIGHT
It works out perfect and covers ALL fees associated to selling that item.. so basically what you sell it for is what you will be actually getting possibly a little bit extra.. For each add'l cd that a person buys I charge $1.50 per item. I used to charge $1.00 (U.S.) & $1.50 (Int'l) for each add'l cd, but it turned out to be a huge mess when buyers would checkout because ebay only allows one discount price, which is ridiculous!! So I settled on $1.50 to make things easier for me.

Also, I think next month the USPS are increasing their rates again from what I overheard yesterday at the Post Office. I may need to double check that, but if it is true then that's fucked up!

good idea, my shippings too cheap
I thought the same.. what's fucked up about changing my S&H prices is that I had to redo ALL of my auction listings that I had saved on TurboLister. Basically I started all over. I couldn't think of any easier way to do it. I fucked up when I created those listings when I first started selling by including my S&H prices in the description. So it would be VERY time consuming for me to go in every listing to change those prices each time. So what I did on my revised listings was removed my S&H rates in the description and stated the S&H rates in the "Seller's Payment Instructions." By doing that I am able to easily change my S&H rates on all listings saved on TurboLister rather than going into every auction listing. Here's what I have jotted down:

Seller's payment instructions:
U.S. Shipping & Handling fee: $3.50 for 1 CD ($1.50 for each add'l CD). International Shipping & Handling fee: $6.50 for 1 CD ($1.50 for each add'l CD). All shipping & handling prices are firm, so please do not ask for additional discounts. If you have any questions regarding my shipping & handling charges, please feel free to e-mail me at any time.

You can copy and paste that if you'd like.
