My first taste of hip hop was with Run DMC Walk this way in 1985. My favorite year has to be 1988. Who can forget PE, BDP and all those other classic albums.

I was born in 1980 and the 1st hip hop i remember liking/hearing was in 1986. I have always loved music as a whole so I might have heard some hip hop before than but I dont remember it. I really can't pick a best year for hip hop but I would have to say inbetween 1994 and 1997 where my faves.

I started listening to rap around 1987.

My favorite year would be 1991, so much dope shit came out that year, Geto Boys-We Cant Be Stopped, Ice Cube-Death Certificate, WC-Aint a Damn Thing Changed, Quik-Quik Is The Name, AMG, Hi-C, NWA-Niggaz 4 Life, PE-Apocalypse 91....1991 was the best year for west coast hip hop.

I didn't get into Hip-Hop untill mid 96 when I Tupac's Dear Momma on the radio. Right after that I went out and bought all of his CDs out at the time. Been hooked every since.

I had been listening to Rap since the 80's (RUN DMC), but I really got bit hard by the bug when the Chronic came out in 1993. I was in 7th grade and I remeber buying that CD. I truly believe that is the CD that put the type of Rap most people listen to today into the main stream.

My favorite years of rap were from about 95-97, I remember one of our running backs in HS pretty much introduced us (and the rest of Wichita) to Brotha Lynch, Spice 1, all those cats who dropped classic CD's in that time period.

Personally I think a lot of the rap today is garbage, I would kill for the mid to late 90's type stuff to come back.
