Yeah I used to drink that stuff a lot back in the day. Some of my homeboys are Fijian and we would drink all kinds of Kava at their spot.

Do Tongans use the two tortoise shells to drink from? And do they say some sort of ceremonial saying before your first drink for good luck? That's how we used to do it over there.

I love how after about the 4th or 5th cup your mouth and lips start getting numb and tingly.

*Edit* Never mind I just noticed the two tortoise shells in the pic. Do they pour it back and forth between the two shells a few times before drinking it too?

I have drank that before. My homies neighbors were from Fiji, and they used to sit in the front yard and drink this all day. They offered, so I drank it. I guess its some kind of root, and they strained it in a sock (for added flavor, haha) and then they offered some kind of little dried out goldfish, which I ate just so they didnt think I was rude. I'd drink it again!
