On top of that, it can't just be a small group of people that like it. Classics are widely accepted by the masses as such...i.e. Straight Outta Compton, The Chronic, Illmatic, Enter the 36 Chambers, and numerous Pac albums.

I agreee on that list,a classic will have you remeniscing about those times, the album has to be slamming top to bottom.Although there defiantley are exceptions to the rule.Example big june straight jackin...it wasnt cutting edge,it wasnt slamming top to bottom..but it was some of dagos early works,so its a dago classic.I think its hard to make a classic, almost every style has been exploited so its hard to be original, and rap has been around over 26 years I can list my classics
fat boys
whodini
stetsasonic
schooly d
slick rick
Roxanne shante
Biz markie-goin off
Mc shan(my all time favorite)
these were the early days of hip hop and it was a different experience then today.
IMO.....FOR AN ALBUM TO BE A CLASSIK..ITS GOTTA HAVE HEATERZ FROM TOP TO BOTTOM...(DR DRE CHRONIC ALBUM)
....AND YOU GOTTA BE ABLE TO PIKK IT UP AT ANYTIME IN ANY GIVEN YR AND BE ABLE TO BUMP THE SAME TRAKKS AND FEEL THE SAME WAY ABOUT THEM FROM WHEN THE FIRST TIME YOU HEARD THEM.
I FEEL THAT THERE ARE CLASSIK ALBUMS AND CLASSIK SONGS...LIKE THAT EAZY E REAL MUTHAFUKKIN G'Z
A classic album gotta be music that everyone can relate to. Positive shit, real life shit. An example of a classic album is Doggystyle,Quik is the name, The Chronic, just to name a few
