Well i know re-mixing makes the tracks sound better...maybe the bass was too heavy and drownin out everything else,or the treble was cranked up and the high hats and whistle streams were burstin eardrums..maybe the vocals werent clear enough and bein swallowed by the beat(listen to Zaggs "Hell In Auguzt" to find out what im talkin about)...maybe re-mastering is along the same lines.
