Titans quarterback Vince Young, according to his agent, has been told he’ll appear on the cover of Madden ‘08, the popular football video game that features one NFL star each year.

Whether it’s a coincidence or a curse, however, recent players have been injured the year they appeared on the cover.

“We don’t believe in no jinx,’’ Young's agent agent Major Adams said. “People said when they put Vince on the cover of Sports Illustrated it was going to jinx him in the Rose Bowl game, and (Texas) won the national championship."

Officials from EA Sports wouldn’t confirm Young is this year’s choice for the cover, which will officially be announced on Jimmy Kimmel Live, which airs on ABC Tuesday night at 11 p.m.

“Being on the cover of Madden is such a big honor nowadays, no one ever turns us down because of (the so-called curse), that’s for sure,’’ said Chris Erb, director of marketing for EA Sports.

VY will break his leg this year...
I couldn't agree more. It's amazing these players refuse to acknowledge the history of being on a Madden cover. All you gotta do is look at the last several years a prolific player has been on it, and what kind of season he had after being the poster boy.

Put it this way...The last two fantasy football leagues I played in, I took McNabb in '05 when he had the "sports hernia" injury and the team went like 6-10, and then I took Shaun Alexander last year, and he breaks his foot 3 games into the the year and misses like 60% of the regular season.

A very bad move is all I can say...

Funny about your fantasy football leagues, I had Mcnabb in '05 and I traded for Alexander this last year, so I guess that makes you and I completely fuckin aware of the Madden Curse...

He shouldn't have done it. He's going to hear about this curese every day until he get's hurt. I think it puts something into these players mind that their going to get injured and sure enough, they get injured.

But I hope he proves it wrong.
