This question is for those of you on this board who support the idea of immediate troop withdraw from Iraq:

Do you advocate for troops out of Afghanistan as well? Or is Iraq the ”bad” war and Afghanistan the “good” war?

Both wars are wrong, and there is a lot of shit going on in the Afghans that they simply don't report. My neiece said gun fire was everyday and said every week a helicopter was being shot down or a supply truck or whatever being blown up. As for "immediate" withdrawl I don't know man. I believe a gradual pull out might be best in this case, but fuck that. I would actually call a cease fire and try to meet with the enemy. Thats what I would do.

But to answer the questions I say a pull out in both countries, but I don't see a difference between the two wars (except for one gets more coverage.)

It must be an immediate withdrawal. A gradual withdrawal will accomplish nothing since the entire purpose of being there in the first place is because of imperialist interests.

They are both apart of the same war (war on terrorism, i.e. US imperialism of the mid-east).

Thank you both for your intelligent replies. I’ll post part II of my questions once I get some more responses to this post.

I hear a lot (from democrat types/Air America types) of Afghanistan was the right war done wrong. It was correct to remove the Taliban and go after Osama and it would have worked if Bush wouldn’t have bungled it and let Osama get away in Tora Bora or whatever.

I think by now many people see that the purpose was to spread imperialism, but I'm thinking about the people who are left behind and are caught in the middle of the situation. The civilians didn't need ask for any of this and they are catching hell from u.s. soldiers and from Iraqi troops/rebels/freedom fighters/millitants.

Will an immediate withdrawl help them or will a gradual one help them?

I really can't say because the people are stuck between a rock and a hard place. I'm not saying that the u.s. has made the place better, because we all know they haven't, but is their presence at least detering the iraqi fighters from smashing on the civilians?

There is nothing good about keeping our troops there. Our troops are the enemy of the Iraqi's/Afghani's and as long as they are occupying their land they will be viewed as such and rightfully so. The presence of our troops is intensifying the level of conflict and violence inside Iraq and Afghanistan. Only an immediate withdrawal of troops will give the Iraqi's/Afghani's the right to self determination, something they cannot accomplish while their land is occupied by foreign powers and puppet regimes are in place.

I agree, but don't you think the Extreme Right wing will use the troops as a shield to continue with their plan?
