Sauerbrun won a grievance against the New England Patriots on Wednesday, making him an unrestricted free agent. Sauerbrun has said he wants to return to the Broncos. A contract agreement is likely to be agreed upon in the coming days.

Sauerbrun was advised that he won his grievance today. The grievance was heard in Boston on Tuesday and centered on whether the Patriots had rights of first refusal to Sauerbrun. He signed a contract with them in December, but the NFLPA argued that New England did not attach a separate form along with the contract required to stipulate a right of first refusal for an unrestricted free agent.
