Top 5 lists

Rules are a little different for this installment because these should be movies that haven't come out yet.

Please try to post a trailer of the movie you are anticipating (obviously some will not be available yet, but when they are please include them.)

The object is still to present an in depth reasoning for your choices. If you just list 5 movies I will delete your post. Tell us what makes you anticipate the movie so much. Maybe there is no trailer available, but your favorite actor is in it - maybe you'd like to post a clip
from your favorite scene with them.

Number your list don’t just throw down 5 movies. They should be ranked with 1 being the best possible fit, in your opinion, for this list. If you just list 5 movies it defeats the purpose and will be deleted.

Be creative and use clips, trailers, songs, whatever if you are so inclined.

Here are some resources for finding movies coming out this year:

I'll post mine later so as not to influence the direction of the thread.

    The Campaign

I’ve been a fan of Zach Galifianakis since before his break out with the Hangover. My wife is a Will Ferrell fan. I think this holds some potential to be better than the more recent films from both of them. I also think it holds even more potential to be terrible.

Apparently there isn’t a trailer available yet, so here are some stills.

    The Avengers

This could be hit or miss and again like #5 I think this olds more potential to be a miss, I just hope it isn’t. To me Ironman has been the only stand out of any of these characters in film thus far. The Hulk they can’t figure out how to make appealing no matter how many different Bruce Banners they go through. Thor I’ve never liked as a character and the movie was generally pretty bad. Captian America was a little better, but it just didn’t click for me. Black Widow and Hawkeye are just jokes.

    The Hobbit

I enjoyed the Lord of the Rings movies, but felt they were too long and even boring in some spots. But that’s how I felt about the books. Fortunately, The Hobbit was a better book. I think with the advancements in special effects since TOTR, which already had some very good visuals, will make The Hobbit the winner. I’m excited to see Smog and hope that some of guillermo del toro’s work shines through in the final film.

    Prometheus

I was excited by the idea of Alien Vs Predator as I was a fan of both franchises and the video game. Then I saw it was going to be PG-13 and obviously would be a disservice to both I never ended up seeing AVP. The Robert Rodriguez Predators movie did a lot to bring back that franchise in my eyes and stayed much more true to the essence of the original film. Maybe this can bring back Alien in a similar way. From what I’ve read this has become less and less a prequel to Alien though so I guess the best we can hope from it is something totally new from the same guy that brought us Alien and Bladerunner (not a bad pedigree). I could do without the addition of Charlize Theron, but I hope that she’ll be the “bad guy” and we’ll get to hate her and rejoice when she dies. I am excited that they are doing another android like Ash/Bishop.

    The Dark Knight Rises

After The Dark Knight and Inception I’m very much anticipating this movie. I like the casting and am excited to see where Nolan goes with Batman to finish things off. I am also anticipating the use of Imax with this film. Nolan, I think, has made the right choice embracing Imax instead of 3D and what he has achieved in a few frames of Imax is better than anything I’ve seen in any 3D movie to date. With more scenes filmed in Imax than the previous this should be sweet.

Loved the 1st 3 installments and like Renner as an actor. I think he can pull off this bourne story. if they go the amnesic route i'll walk out the theater.

4. Lawless

1. The Dark Knight Rises

for obvious reasons, im almost 100% certain this movie is going to kick ass. my #1 easily

2. The Hobbit: an unexpected journey

i just hope its some epic eye candy, nothing really more. i also really hope its not as homosexual as the lord of the rings was with elijah wood and all his gay hobbit buddies. i had hoped they would make it rated R but it was kind of a childrens book, so i figure it'll be pg-13 or pg to make the most money so im not expecting anything too awesome, but have been waiting for awhile for this to come out.

3. Savages

oliver stone, crime, drama, thriller, weed, violence, cartels, sex, profanity, should enjoy it lol.

4. The Campaign

will ferrell + zack galiafanakis, could be funny, but could also be shitty. so im not too worried about seeing it, but compared to everything else coming out id put this at #4

5. Lawless

cause gary oldman is in it, lol, plus this era has always been interesting to me.

5.STOKER
Described by the screenwritter as a “horror film, a family drama, and a psychological thriller“, Stoker is about “a teenage girl mourning the death of her father who deals with an uncle who mysteriously shows up to meet the family“. In other words, an ambiguous story with a fragile girl trying to figure out who is this enigmatic man, what are his motives - cuz Park Chan-wook always deliver and with this he might some crazy shit

4RUROUNI KENSHIN
Another film adaptation of a popular manga from Warner Bros Jp, after Paradise Kiss in 2011. Except this time, it’s Kenshin, a wandering swordsman former-assassin who helps people while being haunted by his violent past. i really liked anime and since its not american made it might be actually good and violent

3.AGGRESSION SCALE
Four heavily armed hitmen and two unusual teenagers go to war over $500,000 of stolen cash. it looks like lots of fun and this one looks like good home invasion flick
trailer:http://twitchfilm.com/news/2012/04/first-trailer-for-steven-c-millers-the-aggression-scale.php

2. MY WAY
Inspired by a true story. Jun Shik works for Tatsuo's grandfather's farm while Korea is colonized by Japan, but he has a dream to participate in Tokyo Olympics as a marathon runner. Tatsuo also aims to become a marathon runner, so the two are in rivalry. But war breaks out and they both are forced to enlist in the army - koreans make really good war movies and trailer looks very promising

1.Doomsday Book

It tells three unique stories of human self-destruction in the modern high-tech era. In a hope to restore the humane compassion in the insusceptible modern age, the film displays an alternative form of genuine humanity -Kim Ji-woon director made so far only very good movies and story/trailers looks awesome

3) Get the Gringo - Mel Gibsons new movie. I think he knows how to make good movies. Don't care about his personal life that much...

4) Savages - Oliver Stones new movie. Trailer looks decent, but could still go either way...

1. Silent Hill Revelation 3D
While the 3D aspect may prove to be a gimmick, Silent Hill has always been one of the best and most unique series of all time. Obviously, I'm not talking about the single film created prior to this release..The games of course...No media has been posted of this film yet, but the movie will be based on the third video game in the series, which will make it highly controversial unless major changes are made.

2. The Raid
Nonstop, hardcore and realistic action displayed for over an hour? I can't ask for more than that...

3. Special Identity

Chinese remake of Mr. and Mrs. Smith, while I hate remakes I personally thought the original was fairly good so I won't mind checking this out.

4. Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning

Scott Adkins is one of the best rising action stars today, definitely looking forward to him being in a larger scaled movie that won't be held back in terms of creative control.

5. The Bourne Legacy

I also like Renner, he did a great job in MI4. The films are hardcore and intriguing and this looks to be no different.
