EVERETT, Wash. -- Police in Everett said the "boyfriend" of a 14-year-old girl who lived with her and her family was actually a 30-year-old woman.
And Lorelei Corpuz, who they said posed as a 17-year-old orphan to gain the family's trust, then beat and molested the teen.
Seattle TV station KIRO reported that Corpuz is scheduled to be arraigned on Thursday.
The charges were filed following the woman's run-in with a police officer over the weekend.
An officer on Sunday ran the license plate of a suspicious car while a driver was getting gas, police said. The license check came back with an outstanding warrant for the driver, a 30-year-old woman the same officer had arrested in January on an unrelated charge.
A teenage girl was inside the car, and the officer questioned her about her relationship to the woman.
"The 14-year-old indicated that was her boyfriend," said Sgt. Robert Goetz of the Everett Police Department.
Upon further questioning, the teenage girl told police the two met at Alderwood Mall in 2005, talked on the phone and then started dating, police said.
The suspect had claimed to be a 17-year-old boy named Mark, who was an orphan.
Corpuz moved into the girl's family's house and allegedly began abusing the girl, police said.
The 14-year-old told detectives she had been beaten and bitten by her boyfriend.
Police said the two had a sexual relationship.
In a probable cause statement for a child rape charge, police said Corpuz performed oral sex on the girl and had intercourse with her.
The victim told police she never saw Corpuz’s private parts and thought Corpuz was a male.
Corpuz, who has a criminal history, is being held on $150,000 bail and is also accused of striking the girl and biting her back.
