I just finished watching all 9 seasons of the X-Files plus the two movies in sequential order. It was such a great show except for Season 9. They made it so obvious in Season 9 that it was the last season because almost every episode was dedicated to closing some story line that had been left opened in previous seasons or each episode was dedicated to killing off some character(s). I even liked Season 8 when David Duchovny had a limited role and they brought in Robert Patrick to play John Doggett even though Season 8 is when everyone says the show started to suck because David Duchovny was not playing the leading character Fox Mulder. I'm kind of disappointed now that I have finished watching all of the episodes, but it was well worth it. Better late than never.

My favorite episode was the one with those inbred oager people with super powers, the ones who were barricaded in their house. That shit coulda been a movie.

Actually, The Hills Have Eyes hella remind me of that episode.

The first 5 or so seasons were cool. I don't know when it started to go south but it got boring to me after a while. I think it had to do more with the writing than anything. I still watch old episodes when they come on late at night.

Actually, I started the X-Files last summer with Netflix. But I was watching other shows as well such as the Sopranos and The Wire (such as yourself). I usually watched about 2 episodes a night. I don't really watch anything currently on TV now except The Office, South Park, and Family Guy, so I just rent TV shows from Netflix. But from January until now, it was strictly X-Files Seasons 5-9. So it took me about 3 1/2 months to get through 5 seasons. But continue with The Wire. Season 4 is the best, Season 5 not so great but still good. By the way, the guy that played Stringer Bell is now on The Office.

i hate this guy who started the thread, show was so gay, go back to duengens and dragons nerd
Thank you Lesbian Yayo.

yeah one of my fav shows of alltime

when Mulder left the show, it slumped a little bit but not much cuz Doggit was a fuckin badass.

It really got gay when the skully "replacement", agent Rayas, was brought on. Worst character addition EVER.

But the last few episodes were cool cuz Mulder and Skully came back.

Best episode was the one where Mulder and Skully posed as a married couple and moved into that ritzy ass neighborhood to investigate all the missing people and it was some kinda underground monster.

I really enjoy watching the show, I need to get the seasons. Did you purchase em or got em in avi (if so get at me, maybe we can trade). I have got the mythology sets which spans through the whole show and I wanna eventually get the whole series.

No, I just rented them through Netflix. With so many TV shows being put on DVD, most video stores do not have enough room to stock them all, so you have to go with Netflix. Blockbuster and Hollywood Video carry mainly HBO and Showtime shows. But I'll eventually buy all of the seasons on DVD, just not right now since I just watched them all and if I purchased them they would just sit. But I think the Costco website has a pretty good deal on purchasing all of the seasons.

By the time I started showing interest in the show, it was in about it's 3rd season. I remember asking one of my friends if it was any good and he said he had been watching it since the beginning, but that it is somewhat sequential so if I started watching it then I might not have gotten what they were talking about.

But I hear you on TV being horrible now, which is why I utilize Netflix to rent older TV shows that I never watched because I was too busy playing sports and/or studying in high school and college. And they're all commercial free.
